Great video. On my very first cruise, we tried to outrun a hurricane. It took us an extra 24 hours to get to our destination and we must have had 18 hours of gale force winds and 30' seas. It was crazy but quite the adventure. People were sick and people were falling over left and right. Even the crew was amazed how bad the seas were. Good times! LOL Thanks, Tony!
Great vlog series so far Tony. Looking forward to the upcoming videos. Oh wow, how I remember our first Bermuda cruise, the last day back to NY, and the barf bags strategically placed all about the ship. Yeah man, rockin and rollin in the north Atlantic. Wah hoo! 😵😨
Wow - you guys had great seats for show! The singer sounded really good. I'm not sure how I'd do on a non American cruise ship. I think I would have to try and learn some of the language for common words/phrases. Sounds like your room steward spoke some English. Glad you did this cruise. Interesting learning other cultures. 👍
This is such a different video! I felt I was right there, riding the waves with you. I was watching your cabin pitch behind you as you talked right before you signed off. I loved watching this, especially since it was after the fact, and I knew you had come safely through the storm.
Awesome video😊 Something we would like to do one day. Glad you were safe. I don't get seasick but I probably would have with that much rocking. The room seems perfect for one person. I'll bet you missed Jenny alot. Have a good day!!
This would have to be my favourite video so far. Glad to see how the early embarkation was handled. So funny how chill Don is travelling solo relative to Tony. 😜
Coolness! I am guessing that was really a bit much of the motion of the ocean. I probably would of been a nervous wreck! See ya on the Lido..nope wait a minute, see you in the buffet? Thanks for sharing!
We sailed out of that cruise terminal in March on the HAL Westerdam. It was the most efficient embarkation we've ever done. Lots of walking though as the Baoshan terminal is huge and is set up to handle two big cruise ships at a time. The smaller ships get to sail from downtown Shanghai which I understand is beautiful.
The ship looks much like the Ovation of the Seas. Looks like you had a great time. “Nat’l Chinese something Day” mad me giggle. Rematch on the ping pong Be safe!
Wow you’re fortunate that you were able to sail on this before the pandemic. Going to binge watch this now. I’m hoping you didn’t experience a typhoon! We were on Mariner of the Seas in Category 1 hurricane in Bermuda Triangle with a full moon on a Friday the 13th and lived through it. 😳
I wanted to leave a comment on this vlog even though you made it several years ago. This was the first video that I saw on your channel and I have been a subscriber ever since. I can't wait until Asian countries ease their Covid restrictions as I have always wanted to do a cruise and see beautiful China and Japan.
When i was in the Navy, we hit some pretty rough seas outside Barcelona Spain. A lot of sailors getting sick. I did good though lol thank heavens. Hope you slept well from the rocking. I know it use to help me sleep like a baby
A good question. I don’t know really. I didn’t pay a ton of attention to that. I think the car we hired to take us to the port was a Mercedes. The cab I took from the airport was like a mini van. So a variety I suppose. - Tony
Quick question. When your passport was returned did it have a stamp from Japan? BTW when I went to China in 2019 I experienced no jetlag. The trick is to have a graveyard shift job before you leave the States! LOL My body didn't even notice that I was awake during the day.
I'm one to like the more.. errr interesting weather.. I wouldn't wish it on someone that is sensitive to it, but thankfully it doesn't affect me. My very first cruise, as we headed north on the east end of Cuba we were moving around a lot.... the whole back end of the ship, and main dining room was not only up and down a lot, but kinda wag the butt from side to side a bit... boy did I sleep good that cruise.... the rocking of the ship in general... sigh.. :D
People like to complain about how often the US plays the national anthem...went to China a couple years ago, their anthem was eeeeeverywhere, lol. Just thought it was funny that they were blasting it on deck.
I know you said they wanted to leave early to get ahead of the typhoon but what happens if you can't make it early? Do they leave without you even though you're on time?
I don’t know for sure. I think that’s why the email is so important to check. I assume they would have left us and said we sent and email but I don’t know for sure. - Tony
Sorry for the people who get's affected by sea sickness but personally i love rough sea then I get to make jokes with the other people on the ship e.g - I can't walk straight no more"booze" for me luckily I had a cruise this January before this "mud" storm was identified.
I mean this as constructive criticism so please don't take it personally, but sometimes you move the camera kinda fast. It makes it hard to see what you're trying to present. Keep it up though, I do love the videos!
Wow. Something to remember. ❤👍
Hi Tony, loved the video. That little dab of water in the sink was a great way to show us the movement of the ship. Thank you for all you do!
Thanks Ruth!
The shot of the water in the sink...WOW!
It's amazing to see you not affected by motion sickness. Very cool. Not to mention that you were probably one of the tallest persons on the ship.
So much fun watching this! Didn't realize there was all this interesting stuff to come. So glad you got home safe.
Omg! Dim sum on the buffet! Heaven! ❤
Blimey rockin and Rollin... what a start to your Cruise .. glad you got past it safely the next day tho Tony !!!
Thanks for taking us along!! I enjoyed this video very much.
Thank you for your videos, fantastic following your journey, and seeing the lovely Spectrum.
Looks like the vibe for the embarkation day was great! Except maybe for the rocking and the rolling.
The segment of your sink was an awesome demo of the ship’s movement!
Great vlog ,look forward to seeing the rest ! The singer was so good !
What a way to start your Asian adventure!!!! Great video 👍, I'm going to go rewatch the earlier video that showed the next morning..😁
As always, awesome video. Thanks for sharing

Looks like a great time even with the bad weather! Look fwd to the next vlog❤😊
Nice video- the show was really good- great performers.
Yay!!! I’m so excited for these videos!

Ya it got pretty bad at the end of night. - Tony
Really enjoyed the vlogs from the Asian cruise! Hope you do more like this

I really enjoy watching your videos and nice to see that Don accompanied you on this cruise. I like his videos as well....fellow Canadian :)
Cruise day! Vlogs have started. Yeah!

Thanks again Tony👍🏻🙌🚢 Great vlogs looking forward to more😍😍#locafam
Ok, Tony. have to admit, I am jealous of you and Don. It seems like such an adventure!

That music when you got to the ship...
Great video and interesting place. Good you were there before the virus started spreading
Great vlog! Can't wait for the next one to see how your night & next day went!

Shanghai Disneyland is amazing. Hope you took some magic with you.
Great video - thanks for sharing
Thanks Billy! - Tony
Dude I saw the news that day and you guys were the first thing I thought of. Said a prayer for you guys. Was wondering what was going on.
Ya Japan got hit with a really big storm after we left. Super sad. We got lucky. - Tony
Love when I get rocked to sleep on a ship, but that was a little much!
Great video Tony !
The ship looks much like the Ovation of the Seas.
Looks like you had a great time. “Nat’l Chinese something Day” mad me giggle. Rematch on the ping pong
Be safe!
Because they are sisters they belong to the same class of ship
Great attitude.
Great video Guy's!!!

See you on the lido, oh wait we can’t there’s a typhoon 🤣🤣🤣
Congrats on getting in an elevator on embarkation day!! I hope to get on that class of ship someday.

Former Navy guy here, did Don say “button” down the hatches? Lol the term is “batten” down the hatches. Lol
ships can leave before the muster drill they just have to complete 24 hours after departure according to SOLAS
Tony, what brand of cars did you see the most of in your travels on the road in China, I'm curious? Thanks for the video! :-)
A good question. I don’t know really. I didn’t pay a ton of attention to that. I think the car we hired to take us to the port was a Mercedes. The cab I took from the airport was like a mini van. So a variety I suppose. - Tony

Hey Don!!!
People like to complain about how often the US plays the national anthem...went to China a couple years ago, their anthem was eeeeeverywhere, lol. Just thought it was funny that they were blasting it on deck.
Looks like a great first day Tony. Did you get a rematch with Don?
I did. It didn’t go well. :)
I bet it was fun fighting 4000 Chinese all trying to get on the same elevator.
The layout is so similar to symphony
When did go ?
I'm french so maybe you said it but i didn't understand

Do you have the videos from your trip to Disney in China? I looked at your playlist of videos and I didn't see any.

Glad to see the baby Tribble is no longer on your neck. He seems happier on your shirt...just saying...:-)
do you take any med for seasickness before the cruise?
No I am lucky that the motion doesn’t affect me. - Tony
Show us Tokyo off experience
How many cruises have you done?? How old are you?
😊👍🏼👏👏
Where is Jenny? I gotta catch up.
How come your wife didn’t join in this trip?
So I have a question. How did you find the language barrier traveling to China and getting to the cruise port?
It wasn’t too bad. Google translate is essential for communicating. - Tony
Sue and I reckon the same thing, you look lost without Jenny....
You and Don have horse shoes up yer you know whats...
What does surrender the passport means? Excuse my ignorance.
They took them from us in China at the check in and gave us slips of paper at each stop in Japan.
Wow! That's interesting! As you see I'm catching up on your old videos since I just discovered you less than a year ago.
Tony, which stateroom is this? (cabin number)
Here’s the tour, number was 6652

@@LaLidoLoca And say Hi to Jenny. ;)
Why do you have to surrender your passport?
It was how the Japanese immigration worked. They gave us a paper copy we used in the ports. It was odd. - Tony
This is mostly for controlling the Chinese citizens so that they cannot use the cruise trip to stay in Japan and never come back.
Is that typical to surrender your passport?
First time for me. - Tony
Where is Jenny?!?!

Bet that cruise costed a lot of money.
Why do you have to surrender, your Passport?
way too many people
