It’s a really great place to walk around. I get bored walking around Irvine Spectrum or Fashion Island, but there’s something about the design that makes it feel like an adventure. I think the way it moves from cavernous into these little atmospheric spots like the Terrace restaurant or the restaurants near Ruby’s. It’s one of the few malls I become conscious of how the architects want me to feel.
I live in California near here but I think I've only been to this mall once or twice. After watching your video though I definitely want to check it out again, it looks beautiful. I don't remember it being this big but it did look pretty empty like another comment said. Have you done a video of Disneyland yet? If not it's definitely somewhere you should check out.
It is a pretty nice mall in a nice area. I prefer Fashion Island or Century City, but this mall is one of the better ones in SoCal. Absolutely Disneyland is on my list for this year, I am just waiting for better weather, lol. So, stay tuned for those videos, as well as videos of Universal Studios, other parts of LA and San Diego. 🙂

The place seemed pretty devoid of shoppers that day. Is it usually that dead these days? Used to live a block or so away at Versailles on the Lake and the mall was always crowded all those years ago.
I believe because this video was taken during a weekday, early afternoon. I am sure this mall gets very crowded during the weekends. Thanks for the comment by the way 😀
Nice video of South Coast Plaza.
Thank you, glad you liked the video. 🙂
@@ExplorationToGo Still watching it, you are in the Garden Terrace. 😆 I connected with you by the way. 👍
this mall made me fall in love with mid-century architecture as a kid. It's crazy how timeless it is.
Good take, I actually did bot notice it's architecture. Thank you for this information. 🙂

Have You Ever Been To Disneyland? Does Disneyland Or South Coast Plaza Look Better?
Actually, the Disneyland and Universal Studios videos will be up shortly. Of course, Disneyland is better to tour around than South Coast.

East of NB, not south.
Yes, east from Newport Beach...

The “sales reps” in all the designer shops are rude and condescending here.
Ohhh, lol, good to know I guess. I'm sure not all the stores there, hopefully, have rude employees.
that place is dead...
Lol, yeah, there weren't that many people around when I covered that mall at the time.
