Brian used to (ex. when they performed and recorded this song back in 65/66) but at this point his regular voice was a shadow of what it once was...but his falsetto still sounded good when he wanted it to, ex. "Getcha Back." The song only requires 4 voices, so I wonder if maybe Bruce doubled the top line with Brian to help him out?

Many people don't know that Brian Wilson re-worked this song in 1963 with lyrics as a tribute to legendary actor James Dean - The Beach Boys recorded it with brilliant and gorgeous acapella vocals and titled it "A Young Man Is Gone".
That was the version that I heard first, from the Little Deuce Coupe album. Eventually, they put out a live version of Their Hearts Were Full of Spring on the Live in London album.

Yeah his bass is outrageously impressive. And people don't even know that's what he's singing in these harmonies because he doesn't look like he's doing it.

I've always thought Mike had the toughest part as bass was not his natural voice. Beautiful here.
Oh yes, his parts were often the toughest, and he did an amazing job.

Yeah he was kind of pigeonholed as the bass since he was the lowest voice in the group at the start, but he did a great job
