I think you are autopiloting your neutral and mix up options too much.
I see you running into your opponents loving arms many times. I think you are genuinely mixing him up. But when that mixup just ends up in a situation where they can grab you in reaction that shows you didn’t clearly think about why or what you are doing with these mix ups.
And I think that’s why the pacing is very odd for this match because most of the time they look like they have really good control. Because they are just spacing themselves to your overall temp for when you mix up.
They don’t need to focus on what you are specifically doing. They just need to jump and drift at a timing that’s going to out wait whatever you are doing which is why they are choosing those jump arcs over and over again.
But because you are constantly mixing up sometimes that doesn’t work out and they get hit.
Now this isn’t necessarily a bad strategy because if done well it makes the neutral very annoying.
But I think you need to pay attention to what your opponent is doing more and become more predictable in ways your trying to actively avoid so you can make progress to make your movement options more dynamic and reactive to your opponent.
You can go back to these subtle and chaotic mix up options. I just think they need to be balanced with more tangible and rational options to pull your opponent into that gameplan.
Just one quick example. Instead of back peddling to jump back in at an awkward timing, charging, pivoting, trying to jump read them. Instead of doing those things if you know they are going to do a jump back arc to out wait you, you can run or walk underneath them forcing them into disadvantage state.
It’s a very low risk high reward option for nothing. If they decide to continue with their plan to attack you are under them so you can shield. They can do timing mix ups with tomahawk, air dodge to avoid early up b, landing spot dodge to and what not. But these are prepared options for this change in movement.
You will likely be able to up air them from this position.
And if they start picking particular options to counter this then you can go back to your bread and butter.
Interjecting solid positional counters with different waiting times will improve your autopilot for very little energy both mental and physical.
