- Shah Rukh Khan launched Gauri Khan’s debut book ‘My Life in Design’ in Mumbai on May 15. The book sheds light on her journey as an interior designer. While addressing the event, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about Gauri Khan’s contribution to perfecting the interiors of their house ‘Mannat’. Shah Rukh Khan revealed how he bought Mannat and the time when he did not have enough money to furnish Mannat. King Khan later talked about how lack of money motivated Gauri to start designing her house and later make it her full time career.

Highest level of poverty is when one has to save money to buy leather for one's sofa from South Africa 🌍 and decoration pieces from Dubai. Then you are tensed to build a bathroom and buy books to fill up a library!! On top of that Overnight one's wife has to qualify as an interior designer!! that's hell lot of talent must say!! Gosh!!

To build it, srk also had to work like we do..and it was built back in 2001, when srk didn’t have the paycheck he has today.
He is not telling he was poor, rather he is telling he worked and to build such an expensive house was even tough for him at that point in time. For a 200 cr building the no. Of sofa’s used at his house were far more than you use at your house, hence bulk order from SA might have been cheaper

@@siddharthapandit1373 There was a time when D-Company used to run the whole City of Bombay & Businessperson,Filmstars,Ministers,Sportstars this 'Platinum Square' used to give a certain percentages of their income as a wasooli to them but now it became City of Mumbai and their place has taken by our very own politicians with much more organised way!! Percentages are still here depending on how much high profile you are!! It's a reality!!
He came from a very well to do family, well connected with important people etc. So, he got some cushion of support. Having said that, without hard work, he could not have been what he is today.
