- DRIVER'S EYE with Corvette Racing's Tommy Milner around Sebring International Raceway. Featured in this video, Corvette Racing's new rear facing radar system.
I love the way its so relaxed, just slowly ganders out to the car, watches the pit crew, has a joke about the lmp2 type car beside them and then goes for a nice Sunday drive.
(I know this is really, really late) I think It's an LMP1 car. It looks like the HPD ARX-03a or HPD ARX-03c.
@@RealRaynedance Well im later
@@Patrikv303 im even later
@@HyperGhostLoL Better go to the pharmacy and get a test.
@@benn454 Did that baby finally pop out yet? It's been a year...
Love how Tommy greets his old Team and they greet him back.
People always talk about Corvette vs. Viper but I think Corvette vs. BMW is a much better rivalry. :)
or Chevy vs Ford
@@weatherracing8821 nah thats boomer talk
How did this not go viral...this idea's really unique, i'd think more people would be curious of watching a race from the driver's perspective
My girlfriend wanted me to go to bed cause she wanted to show me something but I decided to watch the clip a second time.
lol!!!
you're the man...what could be that important to not watch this again?
Exactly! ;-)
my partner is really fucked off with me.
Epic comment
That steering wheel is damn sexy.
Fantastic video, a small glimpse into what it's like to be a race driver, amazing stuff... Thanks for making it, hope to see more like this from you guys in the future
Driving games try to achieve this atmosphere of the driver experience so much. They could learn from these videos. Thanks Drive for posting!
I like how the computer for the rear camera run linux.
Linux is more lightweight than Windows, everyone knows that
Thats so sick.. I run a pi3 as my dash in the racecar and i was drooling over this rear view camera with HUD. Its like the opponent markers in a video game
@@drivewaychopshop6288 But it's even less reliable than in games... :D You can see it in other Milners POV video from Daytona 24... It shows an arrow suggesting someone is dive bombing him in T5 or T6... But the guy is still far behind him.
just a Lil' favor to the creator of this video. please don't cut, fast forward. We like to see the process, start to finish. if it's proprietary or secret cut the volume out.
The arrow indicator on screen showing where the car is behind and beside him is pretty awesome. Such a bumpy ride!
The Corvette C6.R might be one of the most beautiful cars I've seen. Hell, every Corvette is beautiful
I love what the drive channel does. I wish I could last forever.
Seeing the pre-drive routine from the driver's eye is amazing.
This is just the best onboard video ever! every race driver in the ALMS should do this! love it!!
When I first read the description, I thought the "rear facing radar system" part was a joke.
Having seen it in action now is like "WHOA That's awesome!"
GO TOMMY!! GO CORVETTE RACING! Love you guys!
I'm really enjoying these Driver's eye videos love seeing the different tracks and the personality of the drivers!
It's really nice to see the driver's getting a long with other teams all the time. It's part of what racing is about.
Thank you Drive for giving us the coolest car video I have ever seen.
Its good to see all the drivers being friendly with each other.
Thats an amazing rear view camera with the arrows showing up so you can easily see with just a glance where the car behind you is.
We need more of these Driver's eye videos, ,they're epic :D
im really enjoying these, great to see the drivers perspective not just in car but in the teams preperations too
Thanks for sharing your XD1080 footage Tommy! So Sick!
DAMN this really puts the speed and grip of those prototype machines of awesomeness have!!!! LMP cars are SO COOL and that radar on the vette is so awesome
I can not describe it, it's just obnoxiously beautiful!
That was awesome. That's putting the driver experience while kicking on your couch. Great job Drive!
The blue lights indicate how much traction control activity there is. They will turn red during braking and indicate whether a tire is about to lock up and when it is fully stopped. One of those units is what caused our small fire during the race. They are just a small help to us so we are more aware of what is happening with the car.
Best moment was when Tommy enters the cockpit and the sound changes. He's just entered a serious machine.
Excellent. Another great insight. See music can often distract from the pure pleasure of sound.
how do I get a job doing ANYTHING on a team like this? I'll sweep the freaking floor. I would love to get paid to do any of this.
Do engineering and work on the design team. That would be fun
Justin Seara true
@@ericlanegen so u need a degree in design and engineering to get a job sweeping floors? jk
Rich Mars I mean....
@@ericlanegen no offence intended its just how i saw the comment about how to get a job sweeping floors for the race team thats why i put jk at the end, your answer was correct as i don't think race teams employ "floor cleaners" anyway
Fantastic video series, MANY thanks go out to Drive, Tommy Milner and the team, thanks for the unique perspective, and brief glimpse at what must be a very challenging job!
Had the opportunity to meet Tommy at the Petit Le Mans last year. He is as genuinely nice in person as he is on camera. An awesome driver and role model. Keep up the good work!
thanks mate 4 the raw video....sebring has alot of bumps its hard to tell unless ur in the car...awesome thanks again bro n good luck 4 2013 go the vett
awesome, great video. Cool to see the interaction with the crew and not just the on track stuff.
Watched the end of the race from the ALMS onboard cams for this car. Cool video, thanks Tommy and Drive
As if drive could get any better they drop this in... loving it!! One day, one day.
Think you for giving all us a first person view.Your realy lucky to be a race car driver.thank you(-:
Great to see all the stuff before he got in the car too! Obviously it wasn't what I was watching for but it was still really interesting to see.
He makes it look so damn easy and that rear view camera is so nice
Thank you for listening to our feedback! This video without music is so good. Thank you!
That arrow that comes up on the screen is f@n clever! Great video.
Outstanding video. Really takes you into the drivers world ...I have no words to describe how immersed I was there. Absolutely brilliant! Subscribed!
Damn, makes you appreciate how awesome this job must be. And how probably physically demanding as well. Thank you Drive, this kind of shit's cool.
love the in-your-face LED which indicates loss of traction. sure makes you drive smoothly not wanting to get blinked all the time lol.
awesome video
Oh my !!! That is f**ing brilliant!
I didn't know that I missed these kind of footage so much and I really hope there is more to come,
that really brings motorsports to your home!
Thanks so much.
Very cool video. Kind of makes you realize how difficult driving one of these awesome machines for hours on end would be.
Brilliant video, really BRILLIANT!!! Drive, thank you so very much!
Thanks for the ride Tommy
Thank you Drive! Driver's Eye has easily become my new favorite series on the channel, and I'm really impressed that you've gotten the top drivers from the top teams to have a go at it.
A slight bit of constructive criticism: It'd be nice if we saw more of the life of a driver off the track, much like the first Driver's Eye. The in car shots are awesome as always, but the driver's work outside the car is something very few of us actually know about.
I want more of this stuff too. This is vicarious GOLD!!!
Those 2 Audi's at 9:55 mark looked like space ships that engaged warp speed. Amazing video. Definitely need more videos like this.
That radar was all that the announcers were talking about on TV during the race. Every time it showed up, they had to mention it! I get that it's new technology, but it was slightly annoying hearing them swoon about it.
These videos are very cool though, keep them coming!
Corvette racing is one of the best motorsports team ever.
This was as cool as it gets. Maybe a bit more action out on the track, but this was still badass!
Thanks Tommy! and /DRIVE, that was an incredible and unique video
top video, i just love the drivers eye so keep on making them, format is great ... jokes, gr8 team work and driving, thumbs up
@ Tommy Milner -Thank you for this perspective of driving an amazing car! As a racing fan its great, as a Corvette Racing fan - it’s perfect. Keep ‘em coming!
Great driving at Sebring! Way to push hard at the end. Well deserved victory!
Thank you to You, Ollie and Richard as well as the rest of the #4 team for running at the top of one of the most competitive series' we've seen in racing in a long time! Keep up the hard, dedicated, great work.
(Hope to see the #3 back up front soon too!)
that rear view camera shows a pointer when someone is passing on the side of him...thats awsome
Keep videos like this coming Drive, they're great!
Love that noise! I didn't want the video to end there.....!!
Epic, just epic. I'm loving these videos. Pretty cool that the last video featured my favourite Grand Am team and this features my favourite ALMS team.
Alternate title to the beginning of this video: Tommy Milner is the coolest kid in school. Also, I always thought the problem with a lot of videos was a lack of LED's. This video delivers.
This may possibly be the coolest video EVER!!!!!!!!!
This is so cool. Thanks Drive. MORE of this.
Not bad, Drive. That was pretty damn cool.
That last turn is something else!
I love these type of videos !
Wow!!...this footage is freakin awesome!
That is one hell of a down shift noise! Great video fella's
Blue Flashing lights are for when the rear wheels are spinning, this device caused a shortage and started smoke in the cockpit fairly early in the race. The "radar" they are running in the car is mounted in the front intake inlet in the middle of the front bumper, the colors are yellow for the #3 and blue for #4.
JF, you and your crew at drive are creating brilliant car culture vids. Thank you!
man..can't be watchin stuff like this. my mouth droolin all over the table
Best onboard video I've ever saw!
That rear view camera system is so bad ass...great video...keep it up drive network
This is awesome. Thanks guys!
Very Interesting video Turbo Tom.
Looking forward to more of these.
love the arrow sensor on the rearview camera display! had no idea they had that now.
love these videos. Keep them coming!
awesome video man. thanks for sharing. great experience
the walk to the car was epic
I agree. More please. This is better then playing a video game!
Damn! About a week ago, my roommate and I agreed that the next race in our Forza 4 ALMS season was going to be Sebring, and I'm taking the #4 Corvette! This is THE CAR I've been practicing Sebring with for the last week, for our upcoming 75-lap race. Too cool.
THANK YOU sooooooo MUCH!!!
Love it!! Please make many many more!!
I like the black light for better visibility in the dark cockpit, that's a good idea!
This is such an epic series. Awesome stuff guys.
I love drivers eye, I have to admit. I am glad you guys got rid of the background music, is so much better this way! I love drive now!
These videos is really awesome! Hard to find good onboard vids like this. Especially with good quality. Keep it up! :D
very nice
best drive upload so far!
Excellent video drive. More of this!
Love this series
Team Corvette all the way! After this year, they'll be using the C7.R! Great drivers, great cars, great team!
Would love more footage like this from Team Corvette, please! ^__^
there are arrows on the screen that show him from which side he is being overtaken. very cool.
great clip! scary how quick the LMP1 one cars are, it was as if they were like spaceships warping up out of of the blackness and then vanishing off into the distance
Epic victory for the #4 corvette team in the last ALMS race at Sebring, very well done!
unbelievable, i just imagine i was IN the car. the walkaround was very nice too
Love these so much
Wow this is awesome footage!
Now THAT was cool. Living the dream man.
Definitely one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Thanks!
Wow... I really I wish I was a race car driver....
Great video, excellent idea, execution and editing. What a soundtrack by GM!!!
