- I found & bought this 1965 Pontiac GTO off facebook marketplace. I have been wanting a GTO forever, a true bucket list car for me. This old car has been sitting for years in need of a rescue. Let's drag this project car home and start it's revival....
Can't believe a car like that would be left outside in the brush.
*_Suddenly at _**_1:12_**_, Mustie1 walks up and says I will take that scooter gentleman_* 🤣😂
😆
Criminal To Leave That Car Outside! Nice Save, Thanks For Your Report!
Save the Vespa
Yes!! Save the vespa, it looks in fair condition considering.
I would have made sure that vespa ended up on the trailer depending on what he wanted for it!
Definitely want that Vespa. Probably worth some $$
Vespas like that in the U.K. go for 2-3K..
Und die Vespa?
"Little GTO, you're really lookin' fine!"
My favorite year GTO.... "1965" 🔥
What a beautiful car....😍 😎 😍
thank you Tony
Most people like 65 the best. Hooked a good one. Gasser reminds me of Connecticut Dragway back in the early 60s 🙂
I think the 69 is a favorite. But I really like the 65s they are sweet.
thank you Ben, yes 69's are sweet too but 65 is a nice balance of the bigger GTO's and later coke bottle cars
@@5150mxVW Yea I would take a 65 personally over a 69 they were super classy with the chrome front. Just 69s were what most people want from what I know 69 had the painted rubber front and it did not tickle my fancy much
@@5150mxVW 66/67 were Huuge. Blew apart the whole big engine small car advertising they were pushing back in the 60s. When firebird came out in 67 and had 400 option, the GTO became pointless for performance. 68/69 were good looking though and most of my friends over 6ft liked the GOATS. 64s were nice, just my neighbor had a 65 blk on blk on blk, tripower, Hurst edition, Hurst shifter, Hurst wheels, redline tires, OH yeah, Ram-air, 3.90 posi. In 1965 that car was LIFE CHANGING. Adds on TV for the GTO and the car next door was better than the car in the add. Most people on our street had some kind of Pontiac in their driveway. Esso gas had a put a tiger in your tank and if you filled up you got a tiger tail that you hooked around your gas cap and hung behind your car. I believe Uniroyal had Tiger Paw tires. You could fill an 18gal tank for $6 and if you needed premium $8.
Those were the days. It was like an event 😁
@@Mikefngarage 69 you had the choice of chome or solid Neoprene bumper. I feel the adds on TV showing hitting it with a hammer and no damage sold the plastic
I once owned a 1965 GTO. Great piece of American history. Save it!
Good to see another one saved. Personally I like the 54 Ford. I still remember "the new car smell" in mid sixties GMs. GTOs, Chevelles, Skylarks, Cutlass, they all had it. Most people will never know what I'm talking about unless they remember too cause it's long gone now. Cheers Guys.🍺🤛😎👍
I did like that gasser Ford myself. After reading the printing on the driver's side door, I suspect he had a nice Chevy Rat motor in that beast. Sounded like fun!
I remember our 57 chevy station wagon when I was a kid when you opened the doors there was a little sqweek
I like the 54 Ford gasser!
me too !
me too
`53.
I just saw and snap a pic of a beautifully restored 65 GTO the other day. It was red too. Beautiful cars.
Nice ! This one is light blue under the primer
That's awesome! 😎😎😎Get the Vespa too! =)
Those older Vespas are selling at good prices.
thanks man! good luck out there today !
@@5150mxVW good luck for what??
Easiest rescue ever? Nice looking car. The gasser is sweet too!
I had great help and it rolled :).... thank you, i agree x2 :))
Holy Moly! Fix it up great Jay.
👍👍👍
Looking forward to the next video! I'm a long term Pontiac guy who would love to have a '64 or '65 GTO. It looks better than I expected from a car sitting in the weeds for a long time.
My favorite year 65, had one back in the service in 87!🇺🇸💪🇺🇸
Loved the '65 GTO since I saw "Hollywood Knights" as a teenager in the summer of 1980. I think ya snagged a good one; if not, it's still a great car! Enjoy!! And, as always, thanks fer takin' us along...
Even if it turns out to not be a real GTO, even a clone is better than nothing. That scooter was worth trying to get as well.
OH HELL YEA ... NOW WERE TALKIN !! jen gunna love this ...
Great find! I love that year GTO.
Thank you Samuel , I’m stoked to have it
I loved the sound of those hidden beer cans being squished as you worked in the front of the car. Hope it is the real deal as who wouldn't like a GTO??? The chainsaw in the background was a nice Red Green touch.
Nice man! Best year GTO. The seats are’65 GTO, steering wheel is not wood like a ‘65 GTO. Excited to see more!
Awesome old Pontiac GTO! The Vespa scooter, too! Cheers! 😀🛠️
We never know what we're going to see on. One of your videos, that's what makes them so cool. So far, that car looks pretty solid.
👍👌👏 Nice car, congratulations 🎉
But 😱 did you really leave the Vespa behind? Do you actually know how extremely valuable old Vespa scooters are in Europe respectively Germany? Hope Mustie1 is watching and buys it.
Save the vespa. Let mustie make it run
Without a doubt👍
Sunday mornings with Coffee and Mustie1..doesn’t get much better than that!
I can't even FIND a rad support or a backseat for mine and you get a WHOLE CAR!!! TOTALLY JEALOUS RIGHT NOW,...but great find !!! '65 is THE one to have if you can only get one...👍
Yes , I’ve been shopping used parts and yikes hahah. I am digging the 65 :)) . Getting into the engine tomorrow
Did you try Year One or Classic Industries?
Friend's grandpa owned a Pontiac dealership, just up the hill from my house. Luv Pontiac, had 2 neither GTOs . Good luck with this one. 👍
I of my favorites also ! My friends dad had one which my friend inherited but he passed away so now its his father's again.. enjoy life responsibly
Body appears to be solid. Nice looking whatever it is.
Hell yeah Rad Dude!! Such a kick ass car!! My buddy in high school had a 65 Pontiac Lemans just like that we would cruise around in! 326 v8 with 2 speed powerglide! It was cool!! Keep up the Rad work Duder!!
Good luck. The retrieval went better than 90% of the others. Hope it’s the real thing.
"crusin around in my GTO..rock rock rockin roll high school"
WHAT????!!!! NO FREAKIN WAY!! 65 GTO for real? It seems like there couldn't be another Goat left out there waiting yet stil in great shape! Wow!!
There was ! I thought the same thing when I pulled up to it . Imagine seeing a GTO from the road kinda buried ….although my son and I found one a few years ago on the channel . It was a 70 , 4spd
Vespa VBA1M...I think. I had one and used it for regular 500 mile journeys a long time ago....❤
GTO got my attention, look forward to seeing what you do with it!
Thank you Skip
GTO’s look great with Cragars!
Awesome and outstanding as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
thank you Taurota
It's a beautiful car, front to back.
👍👍
Good luck with the GTO, a sharp looking motor.
Congrats either way buddy! It's still a pretty sweet car!
I am CT too! Glad to see CT represented!
👍👍
You’re definitely going to need the bigger shop with all these new cars that will take up a lot of space. Enjoying the new content can’t wait to see what is next.
Maybe I’m weird but to me the most exciting part of getting a new project is cleaning up the crap in the car and trunk and finding cool stuff
Exactly , i've been cleaning it out for 2 days now ...2 trash bins and 2 recycle bins. I did find some very important things for the GTO :)))
My dad hade one when I was 6 I've wanted one ever since!
Beautiful patina!!
What a great find!!!
What a find. I’ve been fortunate to have multiple Pontiacs through the years, started with a ‘71 LeMans back in the ‘80s, followed by a ‘70 400 4 speed Goat, a ‘69 400-400 auto that I was never able to get a title for. Last one was a ‘67 400 4 speed no power steering/power brakes GTO. Fun cars to drive and pretty easy to work on.
OOOHHH !!! WOW GUYS GREAT VIDEO!! WOW,, LIKE YOU SAID ..A FIND,... WHO THE HELL WOULD TREAT HER LIKE THIS ,SAD!!! YOU CAN FIX HER ,CHRISTINE...THANKS!
The rescue went well, no problems. I would have got the Vespa for Josh! Good luck Jason I hope this isn't a 'cut and shut' and is the real thing. 👍👍
THE VESPA.......GET THAT TOO
Good luck!👍
thank you
I don't blame you 🥰 love earlyGTO's, best of luck, more videos!
W O W !!!! What a great rescue - such history with this 1965 Pontiac GTO !!!
I'm looking forward to more on this. I had a '64 GTO that unfortunately had been hacked up to become a strip only car, I tried to put it on the street again but didn't have the $ or the ability to make it safe. I also had a '73 GTO that I powered with a built 350 Chevy with a Lakewood scatter shield and a Muncie M22 4 speed. That was a great car & to this day I regret selling it. Good luck with your find!
My first car !!
What !!!! NO WAY 😎
Cracking Pontiac GTO
thank you MR M
Nice show sir Nice to car 😃😃👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you Francois , I appreciate it
Love the old ford gasser! Nice old gto too!!
Thank you
@@5150mxVW your welcome bud! Keep finding those treasures dude!
Forget the GTO, I want the Vespa!
If it's the genuine article, which it looks to be at a glance, nice find Jason! Because you've always wanted one I truly hope it is buddy..
Looks like a great project weather it's a goat or not!! I'm jealous as hell!!!❤
Oh wot a lovely sound
Friendly little gartersnake there. Since you found him in the trunk, gotta name him Spritle.
Those of us of a certain age will get the reference!
I fkng love it good call!
Another way to tell it's a GTO is to look at the tail lenses. A '65 GTO has more louvers than a Tempest. Also, that front tire rim you took off is a Rally I which is highly desirable. Remember that 64 and 65 The GTO's were options on the Le Mans/Tempest line, and that's why they don't have the 42 code on the VIN. That didn't occur until "66. By the looks of it it's the real deal even with the Tempest fenders. Nice find. I hope the frame is in good shape. They tend to rust before the rear wheel arch. Especially being a car from Ct--like me Good luck
decent project car!! my 65 is a Kansas built GTO. happy wrenching.. T..
thank you, this one is MI
Love you guys!❤
Love you Guys too, do i have to split it with Jen ?
Hell no ! 😁
@@elizabethmorales6148 🤣
Quite a find. Good luck
Thank you
Great score.
Thank you , really enjoying this one :))
Thats awesome. And the vespa too
thank you JcF
Excellent video Jason :) yes nice find a GTO car and hope hear up running also test drive too! Plus I don't like Snakes to and to much over years also see in hold tank from distance only !
You are my hero! Connecticut is a lot like western Washington. No venomous snakes, scorpions, centipeds, ticks or chiggers
Haha, when I moved to FL they told me they had the most shark attacks , struck by lightning, most dangerous roads yada yada …by the time I left everything they told me was true ! Lol. We do have ticks in CT…Lyme disease.
I had a 67 White, black vinyl top.
NICE !
Congratulations. Awesome car. Cant wait to see more. Who cares if its not a gto. Car is sick. 😅
thank you, i agree however when negotiating buying the car it's nice to know what you are paying up or down for :) I had some real questions on the car , a lot of things didn't add up but only added to the mystery of the car.
Nice Score !!!
thank you Randy
My heart sunk when I saw the tell tell sign of Lemans fenders :( Hoping it's still a GTO that just had Lemans fenders put on it at some point. I had a 64 Lemans as my first car. Miss it everyday!
GTO rear 1/4’s and the paint on those front fenders does not match the car . There is still hope :))))
65 GTO is The Best I Like Mine In IRIS MIST with A White Interior , A One Year Only Color , Evening Orchid For 65 Chevys . Love The 54 FORD Coupe Gasser . The American Pickers Want The Vespa . Can,t Wait For More Info On The GTO.
keep up the spirit. God bless
yes more video on this car :)
more very soon , editing new vid now
You're going deeper into nostalgia rides: the Impala, now a possible GTO? Next you need a Polara and a Galaxy 500, and you can go to the old school nostalgia drags.
Or just put them back together as your budget allows. I'll watch 👍
My uncle had a 65 Midnight Blue White interior.
and that is a beautiful car ....
Back in the day I had a new 65 GTO, Tri Power 4 speed with a 3':42 limited slip, Had a lot of fun in that car! Traded iy in on a 70 T/A !
That Trans Am was nothing to sneeze at. Last one I saw was white w/blue decals.
That's a Kool car!
Thank you , I agree :))
Nice !! Keep us posted !!
thank you PR, more soon
What about updates on the stream bed Buses?
FANTASTIC, VERY COOL
Thank you
Mom bought a 65 in 68, robins egg blue, white interior, cool ride, I was 5 in 68 loved that car. babysitter took us swimming and tboned a car and totalled it, mom was sick.
ugh !!! I have a similar story as well .... my Mom had a 68 307 Malibu and took us swimming as well. It ended up raining and it was a 3 way stop , one lane coming down a hill . As we pass through the 3 way on the flat road i look to my left and a bright orange car is sliding down the hill and slams in our 1/4 panel . The intersection was an upside down T and he was traveling down the hill to the end to turn left or right...can't go straight. I remember seeing the driver in front of his orange car looking at the peculiar smashed up nose " look at my car , look at my car " ...as i sit on the side he just T boned , don't worry dude , i'm fine , thanks for not asking lol. It was a 69 Judge...this 65 is light blue under all the primer :)
Go for the G O A T!
65 GTO...known as the Goat...389 engine 👍
👍👍
Grab that Vespa for sure. What an incredible find. Have a friend restoring a 65 and having a hell of time finding replace fenders. Good luck. Incredibly good looking car.
Nice,find
Thank you
I’ve been a Pontiac fan all my life. You found a real treasure there, sir! What motor? Hope it’s a tri-power 389.
I wish it had its 389 tri power :)
@@5150mxVW My brother was a GM mechanic eons ago.... was working on tuning the carbs on a Tri-power GOAT, he leaned them out a bit too much, and he caught a backfire from the carbs in the face. My God, he looked like an android without his eyebrows and some of his hair on his head! 😆😆😅😅🤣🤣
Ohhhh myyyy. GTO ohhhhh
You should be seeing a 5N on the cowl tag. I don’t see louvers on the quarters which is good. Check inside the trunk to see if it has holes for the lemans emblems or GTO emblems. Pull the back seat and see if the broadcast sheet is there. Another place is on top of the gas tank. Theirs numbers stamped on the rear frame rails. Lot of tell tail clues as you get acquainted with the car.
65 best year
very good video
Thank you , much appreciated
New sub! 6 generations workin for GM
Looks like we are moving away from beetles.... Those vespas are becoming valuable . SQUIRREL!!
