Bob has been slowly wearing down David to a point he doubts the very fabric of reality.
I like that they usually put him in Lee's team so David has to guess. He really will be the end of David Mitchell one day.
I'm sure bob tells the producers fake stories and pretends they are true

Maybe not - he was once collecting mud in a field next to a lean 2 (or 3) where he would go on to brew 3 award winning beers
I *think* formula one is a soil additive to aid growtyh, and therefore I *THINK* that soil science was him coming up with a name for a soil supplement instead of formula one.

I legitimately doubt he would run out before the show is cancelled (hopefully not for a long time of course!) I mean think about it, hes told I think 26 stories total as of January 2024, the average person has at least 60 or 70 ok anecdotes, right,? And it doesn't need to be good on its own, its the way he tells it. Theft and Shrubbery was literally just him and his friends trespassing while chanting nonsense, thats really not THAT interesting of a story, basically everyone has done SOMETHING of that sort as a kid. But they sure as hell didnt do it with Snipers dream and Harry Harryman while naming it theft ans shrubbery, that is allllll bob...
And actually that also helps now I think about it lol. Hes always been very funny and very quick, so the likelyhood of him doing something funny is higher than even the average persons. Which terrifies me, poor david isn't gonna make it to 60 at this rate...
I've simply grown to love Bob Mortimer. He has single-handedly made David Mitchell question his own sanity,
Bob Mortimer is the perfect fit for this show. His stories are so nonsensical and hilarious that you can never tell whether he’s lying or not.
Bob gently playing around with David is up there in the very top of entertainment.....again, and again, and again 😆
5:27 perfectly encapsulates the Bob Mortimer experience: a newcomer guest (Samantha) has her hands in the air with bated breath, a frequent guest (Miles) just cackling at the ridiculousness of it all, and a weary team captain (David) resigned to his fate of someday losing his sanity

He did it again, people! HE DID IT AGAIN!! I think the best way around Bob's tales is to say true all the time. That way, they'd be sure to win atleast 90% of the time
I have to add that so far none of his animal related stories were true as far as I'm aware. He didn't foster an owl named Mavis, his cat wasn't carried around in a cart, he's not a dog masseur and also did not catch a seagul with his bare hands.

Bob will always be my favourite guest... His stories are brilliantly told... I used to watch him with Vic reeves on shooting stars and the smell of reeves and Mortimer.. And think surely they can't really be that insane.. Now watching this I realise he really is lol
F1 fan here; Damon Hill failed to finish the 1996 British Grand Prix 😂 crashed out at half-distance because a wheel nut failed. He did win in ‘94 however which fits into Bob’s four-year window, so maybe he meant ‘94

Thanks for reminding me as I have forgotten that fact now. Hard to remember all the little details. Certain things though that one remembers from past races going back through time. I assumed maybe he had won that race that year. He had a good year in 96 though. Won the title.
Interesting that when Bob is asked what team he drove for he is about to say Williams, but pulls back on that answer. Very clever
