Very informative garden tour Rachel. I love the look you get with the plants beautifully blending together. The variegated sedum is spectacular - not seen it before.
I'm back! I haven't watched one of your videos for a while, but it's finally time to binge watch 'em. It must be so wonderful to have such a large planting space! The Chelsea Chop sounds like a good technique to me, I'll definitely have to try it out! Yes, Autumn Joy does go floppy moppy. Apparently, if you rub a sedum leaf enough, it'll seperate into a balloon, and apparently you can blow into it!? Never tried it, only heard of it.
Well, welcome back to the channel. Sometimes it's difficult to find time to watch everything we want to but my videos are waiting for you on RUclips when you have time. Interesting about the sedum leaf. Aren't plants great!
Glad to see the difference between the chopped and not chopped sedums. Of course the local deer chop mine for me! Otherwise yes, they flop around horribly. You mentioned a favorite fern…my royal fern is huge! I’m working on adding more ferns as the deer let them be.
Oh dear (pun intended). They really can be a pest. Glad to hear the deer leave the ferns alone. It's obviously one to go for. Thanks for watching and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
My Dahlias also started to look stunning ... couldn t believe they also suffered from the high temperatures ( as they are from South America). As its getting colder it seems to me the plants doing much better. I visited a neighbour who asked me to prune his old hydrangeas ....it was so woody and so dense ...I pruned severely . left 5 to 7 good stems per shrub. I dont think it will flower next year. But it is ar least rejuvenated ... kind regards, Marcus
@@GardeningatDouentza Thank you for answering. I saw no other solution too ...sometimes you have to be severe in order to get healthier plants. Kind regards from Flanders ... Marcus
About half way through the video there was a glimpse of a small tree with peeling dark. It was a lovely burnt orange colour. Please would you be able to tell us what it is.
Lovely tour Rachel. Every season has it's own aspects to enjoy. Catski agrees. Marrakesh you visited? Can't wait for that! All aboard... ruclips.net/video/4pIZaU3vmng/видео.html

I enjoyed this so much, thank you .
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very enjoyable🙏 I love your Dhalias!!!! I always prune my Hydrangeas otherwise they look so sad. But it is good to know what happened 🤔
Very enjoyable. Similar climate, I guess, as I’m in the mild west of Cornwall.
We do have a similar climate but I think Cornwall is a little milder than here.
You're back!
Did you miss me?
@@GardeningatDouentza Yes! And now you're behind the camera as well!
@@benwinkel I'm behind the camera even when I'm in front of the camera. The tripod is my helper 🤣

Sometimes there is no alternative except radical pruning and hydrangeas really are quite forgiving. Your neighbour is lucky to have you!

The tree is Acer griseum, it is a favourite of mine. A little gem.
Many thanks
