"The life which is unexamined is not worth living." -Socrates. This is so profound and inspirational. I'm going to make this a life quote for myself, as should everyone else.
Mortimer Adler coined a similar quote: The unexamined thought is not worth thinking. If you are just getting started in philosophy, I recommend Adler, Plato, and my book "Philosophy Fridays."
@@donecrequiescatwithmattdan4294 Another wonderful quote. Yes, I feel like the world of philosophy is that little thing I've been missing all these years. I will surely look into all this as soon as my Ethics class is over with this summer. Thank you for the information.
@@cicartaya Socrates is dangerous though. He's the heroic thinker and true lover of wisdom but also the master of irony. Plato's Socrates is the greatest figure in world literature, but literature is dangerous
Thank you for offering this! The other free recordings I had found so far were putting me to sleep, and I was about to give up when I found this video. It helped so much to hear you say the words while following along in the text 😊
thank you so much, i’m not sure i would have been able to get through reading that without this audio!! i loved the speed you read it at too - it was perfect!
"The hour of departure has arrived, and we go our ways. I to die, and you to live. Which is better God only knows." What a raw line. If I'm ever put to death imma plagiarize this line lol
One of the most digestible audiobooks of the apology, thank you
