Unfortunately wasn’t in the cards. But if you look at our MH25 and RH25 content, it’s exactly the same quality and clarity on camera. Very clean crisp unit.
I know its been said before...but I dont think it could be stressed enough. Trying to review/sell an kind of optic without actually showing potential customers what it looks like through the optic/device is an absolutely wild choice
for reasons what you see through the MH25 and RH25 is identical to the STINGIR640. and we’ve done extensive footage through those units. It wasn’t in the cards for this video, unfortunately.
@@Arkayne Man, I can't wait. My wife and I are really looking forward to seeing a comparative video between the Armasight Sidekick 640 and the iRay. We were just having a conversation today about running dual tube nigh vision or running the bridge that you all speak about; thermal and NV. Her depth perception is shot - but I tell her that that's not a big deal considering NV. Really love your videos and how informative they are. Considering the days that we live in, this information is arriving "just in time". Keep on!
There is a thread on ARF about the good & bad aspects of this unit. Among the bad is the non-existent CLIP-ON mode. Apparently the software for that function is missing. And worse, an RMA is required to fix it. But they are now sending prepaid shipping labels to customers. But it SUCKS to have to send in a brand new unit because its lacking an advertised feature!
Unfortunately without internal recording this is very difficult. External HDR recorders usually crush the quality that you actually see. However: We filmed a BUNCH on our page through the RH25. If you look at that content, that is the quality you see through the STINGIR 640. The STINGIR is truly up to par with the iRay Units.
I want to be clear.. 5.56 rated means I can't use it in my 300 blackout build.. ? Because 300 blackout is technically a .3 caliber? I don't want to waste money.. please help
If you have 2 you can mount them both i have one and my brother has one we both run them with our 14's ebay has a bridge for less then $200 loctite all the screws it works really well i tried it with both it was cool but i keep my 14 down for navigation and pull down the stingIR for scanning
This Video really grabbed my attention. I just got my first PVS 14 with a photonis w.p. Tube and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve got the G 34, my dominant eye is right. But would love to run this unit you were reviewing on the left side. How would I go about doing that? Thanks in advance.
Hey There! You would buy the Mod Armory Bridge and dovetail adapter on our site. You can choose which eye to put the thermal over. Email us at CS@arkayne.com and Ethan will get you ALL the information you'd need!
I really feel like they missed the mark. I was absolutely about to buy this product until I saw you mention it. It’s not a quick transition between helmet and rifle.. I want to be able to take this thing directly off my helmet and put it on my rifle without any tools..
I know very little about NV but am very interested and have been looking at buying a pvs-14 but a friend of mine showed me this and suggested that I get this instead because I would save money not having to buy the ir laser/illuminator. Is this even comparable as a stand-alone shtf NV device or would the pvs14 be the better route?
NVG is nice for moving at night, but a thermal is such a massive increase in detection at range it's going to be a much greater return on investment to get a thermal even a 384 resolution gives you the ability to see through the woods and spot heat signatures you would never notice under NODs regardless of tube spec. Home defense especially in a fixed position scanning the woodline should go thermal clip on. Nightvision is a superpower but Thermal is wall hax in the woods.
I’ve considered NV but thermal is an incredible piece of equipment. I have an AGM rattler 384 for coyote hunting and can see heat signatures up to about 1700 yards away. Night vision isn’t going to give you that type of visibility especially in complete darkness. Thermals also can be used during the day. You could definitely use thermal for navigation too
@yessir22 I'd have to disagree. While the N Vision units are nice, they don't hold a candle to the durability/usability of the Voodoo S. None of those are clip on capable, as durable, have IR laser designators, etc. They are very much a civilian spec unit made for a different purpose than something like a POT unit (i.e. surviving the rigors of war). This translates over to a thermal that will work in any condition no matter what. This is something thay can't be said for N Visiom units. I've owned/played with every unit you listed (and more), and the voodoo s beats any N Vision unit I've seen (image and use case wise).
AGM you either have a great product or a lemon.. that’s why their 5 year warranty is so big.. the main positives I ve read about AGM was how users got a lemon and AGM replaced it… but they still got a lemon to start.
@@nastyone9556 Unfortunately it does not have internal recording. Look at our RH25 video and the footage there. The quality is up to par with the RH25.
It would of been nice to see some video through the optic in comparison to the ones mentioned in the video.

Talk is cheap
The thermal market is getting much better! This, the Armasight side kick 640, iRay MH and RL 25’s etc. the prices are getting competitive too.
It certainly is! We are excited to show you guys our next 3 videos. They're going to blow your minds.

Brotatochip, pls compare AGM StingIR and the MH25.

Where's the thermal footage? I won't judge a book by it's cover, but you do still need to show us the pages.

Will a regular J arm screw into the stinger ?
No it comes with its own helmet mount though and its pretty nice comes with pic mount as well as a clip on attachment for larger objective optics
Does it charge the internal 18650 through usb when an external battery is plugged in?
I don’t believe so, it’ll bypass and power the unit
How about footage of the optics performance…..

Any experience using a wilcox dovetail flip to side mount on a rifle with the StingIR?
What kind of external recording device would you recommend for the StingIR? Will any HD Mini DVR work?
Is there a way to mount it with PVS14 with other mounts besides a dovetail bridge? Dual pvs14 mount arms? Or is it proprietary threads
Its the same threading as a pvs14 but wont run a standard jarm it comes with its own helmet mount as well as other mounts
Hopefully you guys aren’t still selling any of the models that have the missing clip-on settings which need to be returned to AGM for the new update.
We test everything we get for QC prior to shipping any unit.
If I purchase 2. Can I attend both of them to one bridge adapter? Or would I have to purchase an aftermarket one?

Where is the stinger manufactured? China?
Yup

The RH25 V2 is your better option if that’s what you’re hunting for.

What’s the housing made of???
Some flavor of plastic extremely similar to the MH25 in terms of look and feel
The best of the best is going to be a Skeet X or a Voodoo S if money is not a factor, bar none.
Skeetx is definitely top tier but I would take pretty much any nvision over voodoo s. Nox 18, 35, halo xrf
