I was wondering the other day if she might have let one of the other babies nurse. Cause it looked smaller the other day to me. We had a cow once that would do that. She is a beautiful cow I can't wait to see her baby.
Save the TREES once they’re gone there GONE !!!!!!!!!!
@judimorgan-ph5gp You do know that trees are a renewable resources, right? They are planting trees around their yard, so they can be enjoyed. Trees where pasture is needed, dying/dead trees, and widowmakers need to be cleared.
Sorry about the loss of the chickens. Cowboy was unique. I'm going to miss his crowing in the background. 🥺💔🙏💖
💔🐓🌻
Hello Doss family! I have a prayer request. My youngest sister's husband is back in the hospital after a very serious surgery. He was recovering well, but has had a set back. I know y'all are believers. Thanks. I'm very worried.
Praying 🙏🏻
Thank you 💗 @@LarissaLifestyle
Prayers
No crowing?
Praying for your youngest Sister’s Husband.
Im so sorry about the chickens. Cowboy was awesome and I miss hearing him mess with you Chad!😢😢😢😢
Cowboy was such a handsome and majestic rooster.
RIP Cowboy 💔🐓
I feel so bad that you lost so many chickens. My neighbor lost several of her chickens to a raccoon. My husband and I told her to call us and we could get rid of the raccoon for her. She said it was the middle of the night. I told her that our house is always up super late because of my husband's work. I told her that it would not bother us one bit. It is so sad that stuff like that happens. God bless you and your family!
Glory is going to have her baby on the 4th of July. Liberty would be a good name.
I was thinking the same.
@@KarenWearin wow…just wow😮
Hi Guys 🙏❤️❤️🙏🥰🥰🥰🙏🧸🙏‼️ From Southwest Springfield Missouri ❤and all the animals too ❤🐕🐕🦺🦮🐷🐷🐂🐃🐃🐃🐂🐂🐂🐂🐄🐄🐄🐖❤
if it is a female Libby as a nick name!
I did not see this comment before I suggested the same name.
PASTURE: Instead of just bulldozing everything you should check to see if you can sell the hardwoods and the pines to a logger. Would give you seed money for the hay if nothing else. You do need to leave a few to prevent erosion but a pasture would help you become more self sustaining. BTW great show today!
You might also have had a weasel move into or under the coop. Donkadonk looks so so happy to be with his cows. It was great seeing Grandma and Grandpa come visit the 40. So sorry about Cowboy and his ladies.
So sorry about Cowboy. I loved how he always called out whenever you talked. It was funny. And i think developing those acres and growing your own hay is great idea.
Cowboy didn't die. He and 4 of the hens are alive.
Nothing better than watching your longhorns come through the trees I love it ❤️🇦🇺
Truly enjoyed seeing all the cows spread out in the pasture eating their cubes today. They had room to move around as they ate. Chad you also had plenty of room to walk around and check on each one in a more relaxed manner. I think your ideas for expanding that pasture is great and the cows will love all those trees to eat!
I'm so sorry for your loss of your chickens ❤️🙏
CHAD 1 THING FOR SURE ALL OF YOUR COWS ARE HEALTHY. THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE IS LOOKING REAL GOOD. HAVE A BLESSED EVENING EVERYONE WATCHING ❤
I was wondering where the heck was June, God bless her she's so sweet.
Sorry for your loss of your chickens. I know how it is. I love chickens, but I love your cows too. I look forward to every day seeing your videos with the cows. I think they are just awesome.❤❤❤❤
Thank you for showing the back pasture and the Longhorns and JuneBug and Frank, and Little Donkey. Thanks for showing Lucy, Lilly, and BuDonkaDonkey, Izzy, Miller, and Nora. So sorry about your loss of Cowboy and the hens.
Missing the Cowboy.
So sorry about all of the chickens 😢 they are a lot of work and I know y'all worked hard at giving them a good home. ❤ Blessings to you for doing all you can all the time. ❤❤
So sorry about the chickens 😥 Love what you have done so far to the place, looks really nice❣️ God bless. Hugs and prayers for you all and whoever may need them ❤️ Love you all and the animals.
Love watching you baby longhorns playing.
Poor chick's get some more get a good fence with a cover. Chad about the septic tank, family of 5 uses a lot of water. Large families will tell you,get the washing machine off the septic tank. If you don't, you will regret it. You and your family are the best ,all of your family . GOD BLESS
Yeah those 8 foot stock tanks can be hard to come by because 3 years back some designer magazine did a whole thing about turning them into pools for the kids.
I also love to watch the Longhorns coming through the woods, knowing exactly when to dip and turn their horns to avoid hitting anything. It’s beautiful! Such awareness.
You were definitely sent a blessing from God with your new farm! I just can’t get over how beautiful this property is!!!
Oh no! I loved Cowboy. So sorry you lost them.
Cowboy didn't die. He and 4 hens are still alive.
Poor Cowboy😢. I miss hearing him and him interrupting you😝.
The property is looking amazing. Sorry about your chickens. Great deck. Hi Rae. Blessings to you all. ❤❤❤❤❤
Chad, you are a good person, and truly sorry for you loss of your birds. You’ll figure out how to repel those predators. Once again you’ll have chickens. RIP COWBOY😢
I'm am so sorry for the loss of your pet. I know they are part of your family when you got your donkey. The pain is still the same, be it your own family that lives in the house or your adopted pets, which in your heart is still a part of you that you loss. 😢🙏🙏🙏👍😊👍
Rae needs some mini herefords!!!
Chickens, not the donkey......
Hello there from Knox, Indiana. I’m sorry for your loss. May he or she rest in peace. I love your videos.
Loved seeing this view, Chad. More of the 40. I realize death on a farm is part of life on the farm, I will miss Cowboy, though. I didn't realize how much we truly can appreciate the chickens (though I watch Ralph, too), but I really did enjoy the connection with Cowboy. It was the enjoyment of watching his connection toward you, Chad. Both of you made me laugh about it. Laughter, especially in "this" world, has been good medicine, indeed. Just the same, Li'l Donk HAD to be moved when you did. What he was enduring was quite the intrusion on his sweetness and protective nature. There's a lot to eat out there, otherwise the birds would be at the feeders. Wait it out, they will come around. Especially during the winter months when food is more scarce. Though makes you wonder how scarce on your place. Sorry about Cowboy, and raising the question. We get used to them being part of your story, and end up really noticing when they're not around. ESPECIALLY COWBOY 😉😪
Hi Chad, your plants look pretty good they should give you some colour down the road. That’s too bad what happened to the chickens. Love your videos and your new farm. 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Loved that little fisty rooster. He was a pretty thing. Love all the Doss family. ♥️♥️♥️
Sorry about your birds. Once coyotes or foxes find a food source they will hit you hard. Till they wipe you out. I also learned the hard way.
And Setting up an auto waterer float was the best thing i ever did. I have one in my horses pen and a smaller auto waterer in my goats pen. The tank float is only about $30. And hooks to the side of any tank. Just have to check it incase someone decides to play with it. 🤣 but splitting the tank at a fence line, where the animals can get to it from both pastures. Then you're not buying 2 tanks.
You may start to get birds at that feeder when it starts to get cold. Sometimes it just takes time for them to find it while food is plentiful around them.
The shutters certainly look great!!❤❤
I bet she has a 4th of July baby. Now that would be a wonderful birthday.
I’m so sorry. 😢
Nice looking gate for the deck.
Thank you both. God bless. Deuces!✌🏻✌🏻
You may need to get a LGD to help with the coyote/chicken situation. Maybe electrical fencing as well. Just a thought from Jamaica🇯🇲
So sorry about Cowboy and the other chickens. Snakes in barn? I'm a silent viewer most of the time. Your farm, land and house are lovely. I love your whole family. Watch you all.❤
I'm so sorry, losing our beloved animals is so hard, prayers for all of you
❤🙏🌷💓
I think working towards self sufficiency is an excellent plan Chad Doss. The pasture/hay field will pay for itself over the years. You will probably still need someone to cut and bale, but that won't cost near as much as buying bales at the going rate for the next few decades, and you may have extra you can sell. Sorry about all the chickens disappearing! I know you live having them, but it might be a better situation when you get more area cleared. Blessings, Texas Deb 💗 ps I love the deck and the landscaping you and Rae Ann have done!
Chad, I'm so sorry you all are having chicken problems. It is fun to watch them follow you to the cow pasture. I don't mean to be "debbie downer", but Glory doesn't look pregnant to me in this video. Her bag would be big and stiff, not loosely hanging. Have you considered getting her checked? If there is a baby in there, it might be stillborn. I'm just hoping her due date was miscalculated. Sending prayers for all. Love you and your family 🙂
I believe that Glory is waiting until July 4Th to have that baby 😆
Yes, like the nail covers. Shutter look new after you power washed. Donkeys are funny. Lucy is pretty and so sweet. Can't wait to see her new foal. Lily is very pretty. lol the pigs are so funny. So sorry about your chickens! A hawk got two of my hens last week. I put netting 50x50 over a large corner around the coop area is where he got each of the hens. This is an awesome area. They are saying ... WHERE ARE YOU??? lol lol This is a beautiful area to see. The water line will be nice and more convenient for you. The gate looks good! So nice for your hay source. So happy for you all. The birds will find it! All the best! love the deck and your new hay field plans. God Bless.
Chad, what a beautiful area for the cows and lots of shade. I so enjoy watching all the animals come to eat when you call them. They are calm with you. I am glad though that you put safety first. The deck is really nice. You, Rae, the boys and the dogs will enjoy the deck for many years to come. Thank you. Love and prayers to you all. ❤️❤️
So sorry for the loss of cowboy and all the chickens. Going to miss his crowing.
if you grow those 16 acres with hay, you would end up with around 80 large round bales, that's a lot of hay which should be around 240 days of food for da cows
That’s my goal. 👊🏻
Sad about the chickens. You’ve had them for a long time. Hope you can get things so you’ll have them again. You always shared the eggs with others and didn’t charge. That was so awesome
I can't stop smiling as I watch y'all on your porch. Gate looks great. Yes, a hay field would be good. I guess. I'm no farmer either, lol
Sorry to hear about the chickens. Cowboy was a great cockerel and crowed when you asked him too. Will miss him. Loved seeing them roaming through with the cows.. hope the loss of animals on your farm improves its been a bit rough of late. Hope you can figure out how to have more but keeping them safe. Very large fenced area with the coop in it. Your decking and pond area is looking great. Good luck with getting it finished. Rae is obviously enjoying her time in your pool. Bless her, she's lovely. Take care and safe all of you.🙋🏡💑❤️🎊
Thank you so much for the update on the cowboy. Sorry for your loss I miss his greetings
Chad, look into Jackery and Ecoflow for power back up. Re chargeable battery backup. No noise
About the septic. I'm not an expert, but the more that goes into the septic will fill it that much faster, but it also would mean it would have to be emptied more frequently. Pump the water out from the washer another way to save space. I used to have a septic but it was from 1989 to 1994 and had already been emptied before my parents and I moved in. I hope I helped.
I know you gotta be missing Cowboy and his Girls. Sorry Chad and Adler. I'm sure gonna miss that Rooster. I don't much care for chickens, but I loved Cowboy.
Sorry for your loss, Glory needs to have that baby patiently waiting ❤lol
Looking beautiful Ms Rae!!
You said Tipsy would be the first one to figure it out and you were right!🥰 God bless you and your family, all of them grandma, grandpa, Matt and Kyle included!🙏🥰
If you get Sunflower chips bird seed you will have a lot of visitors! Also fruit and nut bird seed. Been feeding the birds for over 30 yrs now, my husband says he wishes he could get social security cards for the birds and squirrels because of the money I spend on them , he says he should be able to claim them as dependents 😊
Chad I had an aunt that told me about imprinting baby animal of all kinds. If you made a small pin for the babies even with the green panels, imprinted is touching and putting your hand in their mouth and even blow you breath in there noise and mouth. I did it to calves and horses. It works you will always be able to pet and are for them. I promise.
Interesting, had to read this twice, but very interesting.
I think if they were temporarily penned up awhile and got more used to humans they would be more friendly.
Sorry for your loss.
You might want to get a guardian dog. They help greatly!
You and your family are amazing including all the people that have helped you all in your new home. I think growing your own hay would be awesome. God Bless and prayers to all.
You and farm make my day. I would get a chair and set it in the middle of cows, etc., and just listen and chill. Best place to live...you got it. You all got it.
Oh, what a shame. Sorry for your loss of chickens . Wondered why I'd not been seeing Cowboy about Chad.❤
Hey Chad just a thought put a hatch on the deck floor so you can open if you need to get to the septic. 😂 So sorry about the chickens.
Greetings from LO Longhorns in Texas. I’ve got a stealth cow too. Another sign to look for is the softening of the tendons/muscles on the side of the tail head. Will kind of dip in a little. My girl Shabby Kettle doesn’t even bag up until she’s had her calf. 🤪🐂
I am sad to hear about the chickens and Cowboy. Glory is holding out for the day everybody will celebrate her baby's birth, July 4!! Hello Rae😍 I know appointments are coming up for your Dad Ralph and the whole family is in my prayers🙏🙏🙏🙏Ralph is already worrying about how your Mom will be feeding all the pets! Your Mom said "The boys will be taking care of them as I will be with you at the hospital" So O know he will be keeping a close eye of whomever is feeding the pets! Who is going to wash Chicken butts? 🤣😂🤣😂🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
Sorry to hear about the chickens, I don't think I ever had raccoons or snakes but rats were a huge problem even with all grain stored in heavy steel barrels. They would come in to get into the feeders and just go from there.
The electric doors seem to always malfunction; they have even trapped and killed chickens; we will not use them and have put in a rope pull door; so, we can open and close the door from the outside of the coop; we also placed a perimeter fence around the coup; they have a large area for ranging; and plenty of areas for shade and cover; they seem to be very happy with their digs 😊; So very sorry for the loss of your chicken family 😢😓
Thanks for the info on Cowboy buddy. So sorry for the Doss family loss. Cowboy was amazing and every time he crowed, my cat Mango would come and sit and watch the action religiously.
Chad, we live in central New Mexico in the mountains. We’re currently dealing with fires and major flooding off the burn scars. When we built our barndominium, we installed a Generac generator due to occasional high winds that knock out power lines from falling trees. It runs our home and water well. It runs like a charm!!! So thankful we chose to install. We highly recommend Generac!
I just was watching a channel (don’t remember the name) of a farmer/rancher that grows his own hay but doesn’t bake it. He turns his animals out into the field when it is ready to eat. The show I watched he had the count extension agent with him to evaluate his property. It was very interesting, He was talking about how much more economical it is raise animals this way. The animals are more healthy and so is the land. It was very educational
Your livestock look healthy, and well cared for.
God bless your family and farm.
🥰❤🙏
The deck looks great.
Beautiful property - great video.
Glory will have her baby with the next front coming through . It seems they choose that time because the predators wont be out . GOOD luck . 😢😢For the chickens and Cowboy. 😢😢
Frank is looking more and more like a huge bear!😂
I am really surprised Grandpa hasn't lost any chickens, the way his free roams
I like the new area for feeding, especially being away from the road. Very nice. 🙃🥰
What an amazing show, all of your animal family put on for us in the morning’s. it’s hard to explain how much it means to some of us, thank you again for your kind words and your very funny version of life on your journey.
Not to worry about the bird feeder. It normally takes about two weeks for the birds to find and trust a new feeder!
We certainly enjoy following your family. They are adorable, and so are your animals, every last one of them ❤️ We’re so sorry about your chickens! We pray God’s abundant blessings continue your chase you down 🤗❤️. By the way, I have not ever heard you make mention, and I know you probably don’t want to mention the name, publicly, but I do hope you’re connected with a local church body on Sundays. Our families need this spiritual connection
🙏🙏.
Oh my goodness. Losing all your chicks and cowboy is so sad. He was a majestic rooster. We will miss his crowing on cue.
I am so very sorry.
Yeap, I agree, Glory needs to share that baby. Y'all are such a good looking couple! Love y'all ❤❤❤❤
I am so sorry for the loss of the chickens ❤
The area you just videoed would be a perfect spot to have a home. Away from the road. Be so peaceful. would love it!
I love your ideas on the other property. So sorry and the chickens 😢. Love you all so much! Continued prayers and God bless ❤
😢😢 prays for the family
Love the idea of raising your own hay! Can't wait for you to start and glad you have a good neighbor to help you get that going! Being self sufficent is a great idea!
Good morning it’s a beautiful day had a little rain last night in southeast Missouri. Your flower beds look so pretty. Thinking you need to sing Glory’s baby into the world Chad..hahaha couldn’t resist. Sorry about the chicken’s so sad! I think your deck
Looks amazing love the gate too,
and your idea expand over thr septic sounds great. You think things through all the what if’s,
So I am sure it will be great.
My vote is yes to dose
for a hay field. For many reason’s.
You will save money planting your own.You will have hay when you need it that you know what is in it,
and what is or isn’t on it. You will
Learn what your demand
Is and so you will be prepared with your own supply.. it’s just a
Smart Choice. In my younger
Years I help on my Aunt and Uncles Farm and bailed plenty of hay square bails. They were heavy it was hard work but it was rewarding to see the end results. That’s what’s it’s all about being happy with the results of your labor, for the good of ya’ll’s farm. God bless you all!
Your garden looks great. It looks like there’s a lot good fixings for many salads 🥗! 😊❤️
Too bad you can't put the new part of the deck on industrial castors so you can move it to get to your septic when needed.
❤ Thank you for sharing 😊
RIP Cowboy and the test of the chickens. So sorry for your your loss
Sorry about Cowboy and all your chicken's. Love ya'll and prayers for your whole family 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
