Future trunk's sword is Gohan's sword from when he was a kid
That definitely makes the most sense and it was Piccolo who gave him that sword too.

Tapion is the correct pronunciation, you had it right the first time lol. TAPE'eon was just a mistake in one of the translations. I like the Chrono comparison in this vid. Such an underrated character!

This was the very first movie I’ve watched and owned . Even tho I’ve started like most knowing about DBZ from Toonami. That’s probably why it’s my favorite and it really could have been “canon”

If the movie had ssj3 and trunks got a brand new old sword then how did cell came into existence because if he would have then his basic form could easily be defeated by goku, but in the cell saga we have been shown that goku had died due to disease.🤕😵
In the Saiyan Saga of Dragonball Z, Kid Gohan, for a short time, had a sword that he found to cut a T-Rex's tail to eat while he was training with Piccolo, and when he's out on adventures like helping a brontosaurus ( long neck ) 🦕 and befriending orphan kids in the fillers. Gohan had a Sword long before Future Trunks did!

I consider Tapion as a canon character as well as the entire movie canon rather than Dragon Ball Super any day. It gave Trunks this character growth that was lacking in Dragon Ball Super.
Canon doesn't work that way...
