Lovely reaction. This is a very dark album, and despite the sweet sounds, a lot of us think this is a song about death, someone's last moments of consciousness, as they close their eyes for the last time. Frida's voice has never been more magnificent. The way the ticking clock just stops still gets me, 42 years on. I love how after all these years, people like yo still get how magical ABBA were. The public in 1981 were moving onto new wave and kind of lost interest in ABBA, especially when they moved away from the happy-clappy, swing your pants ABBA they had always known. But thanks to ABBA Gold, Erasure an movies like Mamma Mia and Priscilla, then remembered 11 years later they were actually rather great. I believe ABBA are eternal and, 500 years from now, new generations will still be discovering them. Keep going, you are fantastic at this.

Play “Like An Angel Passing Through My Room” back to back with “I Still Have Faith In You” and the 40 years between the two songs disappear in an instant. But then that’s where it gets spooky and you analyse what you did in your life. Then it hits home.

This is my all time favourite ABBA song, pure magic! Happy that you like it that much, too. Whenever I hear this song I'm in the room described in the lyrics, thinking of my parents, my brother (they all died too soon), my childhood, friends then and now... It's as Frida sings: "Half awake and half in dreams seeing long forgotten scenes..." But enough nostalgia and melancholy for now. I'm off to the Alpha Quadrant seeing if Picard can save Starfleet...😊

In a '90s interview that Madonna gave in Paris to some Swedish reporter when she was asked about Abba she discribed them "boring'.But a couple of years later she 'fell into their trap" and unexpectedly recorded this. Then in 2005 she begged B+B to sample GGG by sending them a very sweet letter begging them for permission.I'm glad she reconsidered and "Hung Up' was massive getting in N01 in 41 countries!

I don't know if you've noticed, but Frida throws an Irish hint of accent on the last line, at the close of the song, "like an angel passing through myiee room". I don't know if it's on purpuse, or by happy accednet, but it brings more emotion to the song.👍I love Madonna, but your right, nothing compares to this original. Awesome reaction video! 'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room' was originally titled 'Another Morning Without You' you can hear snippets of different versions of 'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room' in the demo medley called 'From A Twinkling Star To A Passing Angel'.
'The Visitors' album was released on 30th November 1981 its a fantastic album it was never intended to be their last album as they began recording sessions for a 9th album in 1982.
Alot of people I have spoken to recently have said that 'The Visitors' album isn't great I strongly disagree all the songs are beautiful.
'Should I Laugh Or Cry' which was recorded in 1981 during the sessions for 'The Visitors' it wasn't included on the album originally but has since been included on all the various re-issues of 'The Visitors' album it was used as the B-Side to 'One of Us'.

The instrumentation is minimal. The music box and the ticking of a clock. I've seen comments in the past saying Frida was too close to the microphone but that was obviously a deliberate artistic choice. It's to give the feel of the narrator and listener being in a near empty room. The song is about someone contemplating their life before going to sleep for the last time. The Visitors is a fabulous album for sure.

Madonna first made a demo of Like an Angel that she never released but it leaked years later… I think it was around the time of the Music album. Then years later she sampled Gimmie Gimmie in her hit song Hung Up, which was on her Confessions album. During the confessions tour, she dressed in an ABBA costume during a performance of Erotica. I think those are her main ABBA callbacks
