technically yes, if it smells you in the same spot multiple times, it gets angry, (which scared the crap out of me) but it doesnt do that as it's main thing, whereas a sculk sniffer could use it as it's main thign rather than sound
having played with it, my only gripe is the enderman having the shriek. All the other challenges of the mod feel fair. They’re difficult but not impossible, even the somewhat excessive ravager spam is doable. The rest of the enderman’s abilities are the same, dangerous and harsh but not unmanageable. But the shriek deals like half your health even through prot netherite.
@@kepabra3782 I feel like that's more of an issue with those other mods. Me and a couple friends decided to play with the mod ourselves, once you have half decent diamond we were able to fight back decently well, except for the enderman which we quickly decided was just not possible.

Perhaps if you have time, play the other mods (The thing from another world, Fungal infection Spore, and the Flesh that hates), and try to see how fair those are in comparison to the Sculk Horde. (Funnily enough, aside from the sculk enderman, the sculk while it being supposedly weaker in term of mobs, spawn rate and effects, it compesates with actual intelligence and adaptability, beating the likes of the Spore and the Flesh).
Imagine if at the end, you had to fight a Super Warden that is powered up by the Sculk infection. Or a Sculk Wither. A being that is created in the sculk hord and is the last thing left to defeat before you can fully purify the Sculk horde.
Love the mode i only think it needs more bosses to when you fuck up real bad and let the Sculk accumulate to much mass not a little to feel unfair but a whole lot that justifie a super boss

And it'd be cool if the sculk could spread through open Nether portals, meaning that if you want to be safe in the Nether, you'd have to break your Nether Portal upon entering. And it'd be cool if the sculk had a chance to spread through the End Portal while the Dragon is defeated. If you want to be safe from the sculk, you'd have to keep the Dragon alive, and build your way away from the main Island to survive on the outer Islands.
The config overall can be found in the mod's config file. "Some things in config files can be changed. To enable experimental features this can also be changed in the config, or use Warden Beef in game" - this part is a quote from one of the developers.
So the footage of sculk spreading at 1:32 was *after* u went to the bottom, then you climbed up to record that part? Or that is already "close" to the bottom? For example, to give it more precise wording: If I dont enter the structure proper, then it wont spread. If I load the chunks the structure is in, this is not sufficient to trigger the spreading.

I hope they will add Sculk Sniffers. It will also make some explanation on why Sniffers are extinct

it's currently the same as the warden's shriek, both of which ignore defence

So it only starts spreading when we get to that Tomb? I think it would be better if it started spreading as soon the world was created.
I think that was made to sort of balance out the mod, as it is intended to be late-game content.
