I have not seen your videos in a while but this one really stood out to me. It felt really personal and I enjoyed how you showed the many things you care about on this hike
I myself was wondering why you would climb those trails 100 times, but since the view is beautiful and its relatively close to your house, it makes total sense. Well done Quin. Here's to 100 more :)
i am super late as usual but congratulatioooonssss to the 100th ascend! 🥳🥳 I agree, I never get tired of these videos either lol, I'm not envying you for the physical challenge :P
Thank you for sharing! It was breathtakingly beautiful! And reminded me my one and only climbing of Iwate-san together with my friends about 30 years ago. In my mind I celebrated your 100th climb together with you. Just wonderful scenery and thoughts!
Always happy for an Iwate video, congrats on your 100th summit. I have local areas to me I hike over and over and it really is nice sometimes to not see anyone else.
Hi Quinlan, great looking hike, I always enjoy watching your treks up Mt. Iwate. Do you have a problem with ticks in that area? I really hate those things, they definitely seem to be on the increase here in the UK.
I actually have never had a tick on me hiking in Japan. I know they exist, but I think they're more common the farther southwest you go.. and there aren't that many up here! Fingers crossed that it stays that way! (I'm from a place in the States where ticks are everywhere, so I am very vigilant.)
What an achievement! Congrats! And I absolutely agree. Iwate-san is a magnificent volcano. I was hiking up there on the Omisaka Trail a few years ago before the pandemic. While it is not an easy hike, I also felt that it wasn't that difficult, except for a few exposed areas a bit further up (which I think had ropes or chains to support), but mostly just needs a bit of endurance and stamina. Fortunately, I didn't meet any horseflies up on the summit at that time. I hope your neck is ok!
I couldn't find the "Mountain This, Mountain That" channel, but this one looks pretty good 🙂 Nice milestone, er, kilometerstone, Quinlan. It is surprising on such a beautiful day that you had the trail practically to yourself.
Ahahaha, thank you! But actually there are a number of people that have climbed Mt. Iwate WAAAAAAAAAAY more times than me. I know one guy, Takashi-san, who is over 1,000 summits, and other guy Chiba-san that's in his late 70s that has climbed it 640-ish times. So my 102 is a cute number compared to them, LOL However- I don't think there are any non-Japanese people that have climbed it more than me. Maybe in that category I can get a special mention?
I think a quiet, meditative hike is a perfect way to celebrate your 100th climb milestone as getting away from the rat race and civilisation strikes me as one of the best aspects of hiking in such a place. Your videos of these hikes never get old, as every time I watch one, I'm catching myself being blown away by the views and scenery. So as always many thanks for brining us along with you on these hikes. This one was a real treat.
Love the hiking videos. Congrats on 100 summits.
Glad you like them!

Thanks! I've done a couple more since then, so my current count is 102!
Congratulations on the milestone!
Thank you! Cheers!
Definitely not a beginner hike. But I can see why you love it. It’s your happy place 😊. Thank you for taking us along on this milestone journey.

Could be a 2 second video saying “Why not?”.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
One of my most beautiful views during my spring visit to Japan in 2024 was the view from Morioka of Mt. Iwate.
It is a gorgeous site!
It is such beautiful nature, I love the mountains in Japan, just eye candy to the horizon.
Definitely!
Congratulations🎉 Hopefully one day I can hike it.
I hope so too!
grats on 100th & sharing the stunning views ✌

You're my favorite youtuber
Thanks, miss you!
I wish a thousand more trips up mont Iwate! 💪👍

Just amazing thanks!
Thanks for watching!

30 years ago! Nice!! Thank you so much!
Lovely hike, I look forward to hiking Mount Haguro when I go to Japan with the Yamabushi. You really lucked out with the lack of other hikers.
Mt. Haguro is gorgeous!! Enjoy!
Congratulations are in order . Indeed the views are breathtaking and you most definitely deserve the title of Kamuska.
Thank you!
Always happy for an Iwate video, congrats on your 100th summit. I have local areas to me I hike over and over and it really is nice sometimes to not see anyone else.
Thanks! And yeah- the local trails are so great in most cases!
What a great vid thanks
Hi Quinlan, great looking hike, I always enjoy watching your treks up Mt. Iwate. Do you have a problem with ticks in that area? I really hate those things, they definitely seem to be on the increase here in the UK.
Same question from me, they're everywhere in grassy and forest areas on the US East Coast.
I actually have never had a tick on me hiking in Japan. I know they exist, but I think they're more common the farther southwest you go.. and there aren't that many up here! Fingers crossed that it stays that way! (I'm from a place in the States where ticks are everywhere, so I am very vigilant.)

Nice! Omisaka is my favorite of the shorter trails up Mt. Iwate. That upper part is quite nice!
Congratulations on your 100th Mt. Iwate summit!
Thank you!!
おめでとうございます。to your 100th hike. I hope there will be another 100 or more :D
I hope so too!
Awesome scenery, fantastic views. I fully understand why you would want to hike the same trail. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Congrats on your 100th, we had our first summit 2 days ago, on the 4th of July, it was fantastic (pretty rainy and windy, but still great).
Congrats! You mean Mt. Iwate as well?
@@GoNorthJapan Yes, Mt. Iwate. We were there with a group of 16 musicians from Hungary. (MÁV Orchestra).
Love your videos! 👍
Happy hundredth! You know it's hot when even Quinlan wears a sun protection / sweat absorption cloth 😅
Yeah, the sun was intense that day. Didn't mind looking silly with the towel/hat combo.
I couldn't find the "Mountain This, Mountain That" channel, but this one looks pretty good 🙂 Nice milestone, er, kilometerstone, Quinlan. It is surprising on such a beautiful day that you had the trail practically to yourself.
Ahahaha, yeah, I saw that comment on Ryotaro's livestream.
Yeah- the longer routes don't get much traffic at all on weekdays!
Here's to 💯more. My guess is that you have met other local lovers of mountains and nature who have done it as well.
I know a guy in his 70s that is at 650!
I love this channel so much I feel like I’m actually there
Thanks so much! Really appreciate that!
Yeah, I always wondered where all the wild things is.
Up in the mountains of Iwate!
I'm exhausted watching you. 100 times, what an amazing feat! Do you ever come across snakes?
I do come across snakes while hiking, but almost never on Mt. Iwate. Usually on other mountains like Akita Komagatake.
Are there ticks there?
I've never seen any on this mountain though there might be a few.
@@GoNorthJapan thanks
Do you camp in Japan?
Yes! There are tons of campsites!
🎉🎉🎉 100th
Thanks!
is there anyone who has climbed Iwatesan more number of times than you ? if not, you might be soon given the title of Mr. Iwatesan (like Mr. Fujisan)😀
Ahahaha, thank you! But actually there are a number of people that have climbed Mt. Iwate WAAAAAAAAAAY more times than me. @@GoNorthJapan at least you earned the title of "Gaijin Mr. Iwatesan" :D

Thank you so much! I'm glad my hiking videos don't seem repetitive or boring to you!
Yay! "This is a very bear-y part" had me thinking BERRIES. 🍓🫐 You know, for the bears. 😆
Ahahaha, nice.
