In my humble opinion, the Twitch era really helped Smosh move on from their “making giggles for 8 year olds” era. Honestly the live format really showcased their adult humour and the positive reactions from the community helped them be more comfortable with being more adult oriented. Before Twitch was their “hit that like button” era which was great but was still Defy-coded.
Shayne was really onto something in the interview with Ian and Anthony when he said about how stop start things had been for a bit, it feels like Smosh has always been in a Golden Era and the world conspired to prevent that so often, also, Shayne laughing at Damiens tampon joke so hard both times shows true friendship and its adorbale 😂
At 16:06, the character Shayne makes a sly reference to a Sublime song and becomes annoyed that no one got it... yet an astute viewer will notice Ify subtly catch this reference and smile to himself, foreshadowing that he will soon quote the next line of the song, delighting Shayne. Masterful film-making.

I barely saw this era because I wasn't a Smosh fan yet and it's absolutely criminal that they don't have a dedicated channel to archive all the VODs when they ended. Like, that's just free money. And it had so much Iffy!!!!!
I wish there was a way to watch the twitch streams without having to sub monthly, like just a one off payment would be okay. if they don't stream on Twitch anymore it just seems like a waste. I did sub to them to watch some of their streams but a month isn't long enough to watch everything 😅
That was genuinely the least clear clue they were dating from this very video, legitimately lol; Courtney insisting to clean up a spill on his pants and also from shayne spitting on himself from calling Damien a sex machine (not a sentence I'd thought I'd ever say), much more obvious in hindsight.
they’ve asked people like you to stop doing this. not everything was a “sign” and even if it was, it’s really fucking annoying that it gets brought up constantly and drowns out comments that are legitimately relevant to the video, this is why they didn’t tell us until they were married….

Those were always the most unhinged videos, probably because Shayne and Damien felt fully comfortable in that environment.
