I usually put marking paint or white out on the torque converter pads. With spacer installed. Offset it from the original bolts, set it on flexplate. Now I know where to drill
Your is what I was looking for thanks for All your time I really enjoy it and the transmission was neat way to install it but this my first time seeing of your video I’m looking for the engine mounts how you did it I have a 406 sbc thinking of ls now thanks again for sharing
love the build!! glad to see progress. Few things love the sketchy way of putting the transmission in lol. you need to scratch a W next to the K on the fire wall. Then you can definitely install a lokar dipstick tube in the transmission while it is in.
Thanks Wilson Garage! Appreciate you showing my your lokar flex on the 2v, it's a nice unit! I've always wondered about the k on the firewall. Decided not to paint the engine bay just because of that lol.
@@Autofaze I enjoy the content. Keep it up buddy. I know it's expensive. I gotta do the same thing and that's my plan. But I have access to a lift. May be the difference.
Did you install the spacer? Also if you used a larger boost valve in transmission (shift kit), you should always switch to hardened steel or stainless pump rings. Because of the added line pressure.
did u but a swap kit that came with headers oil pan and engine mounts or did u buy all separately? if so any links to products used? i have a 71 nova and wana swap a 5.7 ls1 with a 200 4r trans soon
Hey! thanks for watching. I pieced everything separately. Mounts: sliders amzn.to/37rKzND and moroso solid frame stands Holley oil pan: www.holley.com/products/engine/oil_pans/engine_swap_oil_pans/parts/302-3 Headers, the link is on the vid if I recall. Good luck on your swap!

I had the same problem with my dipstick. I used a flexible one from eBay with braided stainless steel and works great
Good to know! I got a flexible Lokar one that I need to install.

Thanks for watching!
That buzz sound scared the hell out of me. Lol
hahahaha! Thanks for watching Romi!
Hey man. What motor mounts did you use for this? So many options out there? Love the video dude. Going through this swap now
Hey Skinny! Moroso sbs stands and dirty dingo sliders! I hope your project is going well!!
Get rid of all those chain links on your cherry picker. All you really need is the hook, that will get you at least 6 inches more of clearance.
just the hook would not clear the intake
I would have jacked up the body, separated the frame pulled it out and installed it where you can get to everything.
Sounds like more work. there is always multiple ways to do things when wrenching! appreciate you checking us out!

Tons of guys doing this on junkyard builds without any issues!
Done this lots of times with no issues

What’s the paint satin black?
Hot rod satin black! Thanks for watching Jason
What's your solution for the passing gear?
Downshift to 2nd!
Next go around bolt tranny to motor remove crossmember you will thank me next time trust me
that is a good option for sure but being solo this time and the car being on cribs I thought it was easier to do it this way! Thank you for watching!
Where did you get those lift blocks from….did you have to put a block under your jack to get it that high??
Are you talking about the wheel cribs?
I think I put a piece of 2x4, if I remember right under the trans.
