- On 25/6/11 Roger Taylor visited his boyhood home of Truro and unveiled a sculpture by artist Tim Shaw called 'The Drummer'. In the video we also see Roger Brokenshire who was the singer in The Reaction (Roger Taylor's band at Truro School) and two little girls who live in the house Roger lived in as a boy. (Roger can be heard to say 'which of you lives in my old bedroom?'.)
Sorry for the amateur camerawork: as you can see it was very crowded!!!! :) For more info on Roger Taylor early career visit www.queenincornwall.blogspot.com Развлечения
Roger Taylor , best drummer ever❤️
I was so excited thinking this was for Roger. I think Roger, Brian, John and Freddie should have statues in England.
Have only just come across this piece, even though it happened a few years ago. My friend in Newquay always kept me infomed but I never saw any of this wonderful footage before. Thank you for uploading it. Huge fan
Loved his interaction with the two little girls, the older one won’t forget this...lovely man...
Christ what a monstrosity! I was a jazz drummer and pipe band drummer in my younger days, from ‘oop north’! In fact diametrically opposite Truro up here in the north east so I don’t know what it is meant to signify! Queen are my favourite group from the very beginning which is what brought me here.
When he walked around the statue i instantly grinned like a child 😍😂
First I thought it would be Roger's sculpture :)
I thought it was a Roger sculpture too, but then they don't do things like that until the person has fuckin died, why do they celebrate someone when they're dead?
@@marktaylor3809 ikr -.-
imagine living in his old house omg
i was here for this, it was so good
Oh I thought it would be a statue of Rog😂
Roger sigue hermoso como siempre!!!!! Te amo,Roger!!!!! El hombre más lindo del mundo (literal)🥰
Roger Taylor is such a gentleman💙. None rockstar attitude at all. Applaud that 👏
Roger..... carino come sempre.....🤗🤗😍😍😏😏
What a lovely statue. great for the arts in cornwall and Music generally.
Il momento fantastico di questo video è vedere Roger che si dondola al ritmo dei tamburi, 3.40....
Hahahaha, que gusto me da ver a Roger, muy gracioso cuando le pega al tambor haha.
Roger, why so serious? you should smile more!
wonderful statue :)
I know, he's a right miserable sod these days, only time u see him smile is when he's being interviewed or whatever
@@davebain2656 Yes, he is. I don't why he always appears so angry. He always has an angry looking face now.
He was just being respectful and trying not to steal the artists moment. Roger always smiles if you meet him. He's one of the good ones, a class act :)
right after I watched this i saw the status on television
Proper job.
Disappointed that the statue is not more of a tribute to Roger specifically. Of course, he may have nixed that idea or there might have been fears of vandalism. But it would have been great for tourism and IMO he deserves it. Guess this will have to do. (Can't we at least paint Roger's face on the drum? ;)
@Lorayne Patricio Why?
Damn. He looks really rich! I mean, rich!
I wonder if Roger Brokenshire managed to met Roger that day?
He did! They met for a few minutes just before Roger T came out into the crowd
+artcornwallvideo That's great!!!
@@artcornwallvideo I would have loved to have seen that part! :)
She'aShaunna Egling 0:13. That’s him. He played with Roger on The Reaction
Aww i would've loved to see that 🥺
He wasn't allowed to play the drums in school? Oh my! Loved the video until I couldn't see the magnificent Drummer sculpture. Just needed to aim the camera up a bit at the end, no?
A Statue of Roger instead me thinks.
it's a smooth scream .. nothing more, it's not singing.
Thank Christ this pile of scrap is being relocated, take it to Orchards.
And now it’s moving back to Lemon Quay - you must be thrilled!
