Dude this video was made so well! I’ve been looking for cool trails around me and I’ll definitely be checking out Spring Mountain. Don’t think I’ll be hitting all the features the first time though.
Thanks dude! Spring mountain is a good 40-50 minute drive from Philly but is totally worth it! It has some of the most unique (and difficult) riding in the area. And yes, definitely look at all of the features before you hit them for the first time. Good luck!
I think you have to ride Spring Mountain to understand how gnarly that trail is and how hard you shredded that thing. The Legacy drop alone is...freaking terrifying. Good shit man, great editing too!
Wow! I could never!! So cool to see you cruise on this trail! I was recently outdoors in The Redwoods in CA and someone came flying by on a bike and down a mountain and I just screeched because I just thought this person needs an ambulance now, but it was a mountain biker!!! Just so impressive! This takes strength, skill, finesse and a lot of courage!
Beautiful! When I was a kid (way before the ski slope came to be) it was rigorous just walking the trails atop Spring Mountain. I remember a pack of ponies going on strike (O, NO, WE WON’T GO!) when being spurred to go up top from the north side of the little mountain. Easiest access to the top, in the ‘50s and very early ‘60s, was from a trail beginning near the corner of Schwenksville and Spring Mountain Roads or from several spots at the rear of the historic Spring Mountain House (intentionally demolished in the late ‘70s, I think) and the stone “Fralinger/Loeb” mansion. There was a massive boulder at the top of the first lift line that was blown to bits when ski slope construction began, but I think I saw some of it at the top of your trail! We called it Lookout Rock. It overlooked the village of Spring Mount. Suggestion: add a loop in the trail to Kettle Rock, or just mention it’s still up there. Meanwhile, THANKS FOR AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! The riding, “filming,” editing, narrating - the entire production - gave this old girl a thrill! I’m adding your activity to my bucket list. And hoping to go riding with you more often. ❤️❤️❤️🎉
I like your video quality on this one, and good riding. Do you want to ride spring mountain some time, never went there before and would like to go with someone who knows it.
Looks sweet! I live genuinely ~5 minutes from here (don't even need to drive lol), but I'm pretty far off skill wise still. It's been slow progress picking up the hobby after getting knee surgery a year ago
Oh I envy you for living so close! Spring mountain is definitely not the most easy on your knees so definitely start at a more mellow spot and then come back! Hope the recovery has been going well!
@@thefriendlyneighborhoodmou7635 It's going great! Just snagged a new 2022 Marin Rift Zone 3 too. Any places within reasonable distance of spring mountain that you'd recommend to help me work my way up?
@@jackschnabel856 Niceee! The closest spot to you is Green Lane Park and I've heard its flowy but I haven't been there myself and Im not so sure how good it is. But I love the Wissahickon Park in Philadelphia since it has a good mix of flow and a bit of tech. If you want to start with super easy trails, the Belmont plateau in Philadelphia doesn't have too much elevation, but is very flowy and is a chill time. These are all more XC oriented trail systems but Mt.Penn is more downhill oriented (however Mt.Penn can get pretty difficult and rowdy if you pick certain trails). I personally think Trexler nature preserve would be a good place to start for you since it is stupid flowy with lots of berms, is a little more downhill oriented (but still has a good bit of climbing in-between), but also has optional features that are a bit more challenging that you can try. I hope this helps!
Cool video. Small nit though. That is not the Legacy trail. You rode the top 2/3 of the Highlife trail and exited left, missing the bottom 2 rock gardens, to the Dakota drop and the table top. The Legacy trail is the old GES race track from 2015.
Just was there last week did the race track place is gnarly slower tech af but good practice i am ok at that stuff after mt creek thus week realized turns are my weakness and big drops time to practice
Ya this place definitely has some slow and fast speed tech and is great training for overall technical riding. If you can ride spring mountain smoothly and well, then you will be able to ride pretty much anything else in the area with little to no problem. Good luck with your cornering and dropping practice!
@@thefriendlyneighborhoodmou7635 yeah I am a motocross rider so I struggled in big berms use too sitting not standing but I never felt like man ill never get this I felt like I can progress this is my first full suspension mtb and first year riding in almost 20 years so rather take it slow then get hurt and not be able too ride mt penn this week
@@stevenkilleen8149 Ah I understand. Ya definitely take it slow and try some other trails before jumping right into the deep end. Mt Penn is definitely an easier spot but still has many challenging trails/sections so that'll be a good place to practice your skills before going back to spring mountain. Consider checking out Trexler nature preserve if you want to practice cornering (specifically cornering berms). It has a lot of flowy berms. Not much tech out there but the flow and berms are insane!
Went to trexler was ok lil slower then I thought it would be but I guess after mt creek and spring mountain being my first to mountains in pa this week mt penn hopefully more downhill
Are they open all year? Do I have to pay to get in? .. finding info online is hard they say it’s closed down u can just ride there but other places say u need a pass.
Finally had the guts to send it down Legacy the other day, this video definitely helped me out especially the top section.

Yo man! it was awesome meeting you at the latest TNRs. Hope I get to cross paths again to get some tow-ins. Great trail preview!
Ya dude! I would love to ride with you at some point! Hopefully I can find some time to make it out to the next TNR!
@@thefriendlyneighborhoodmou7635 Im down to get in another free ride before the end of the month, I’ll message ya. Need to gear up for Blue Mt ESC
@@foymtb2861 Oh nice! Good luck at the Blue Mt ESC!

Great Video Quality.. loved watching you ride Amar ✌🏻😍
Love this place. You should also try birdsboro. They have three very nice enduro trails along with a jump trail!

Love all the orange accents on the bike, looks sick! Super helpful video.
Thanks man! I'm glad it helps!
Yea bud! Thanks for the video
This is so sick
That first trail was called “ highlife” when the bike park was open.
Good on u I get off half way and walk up lol

It's open when there's no snow on the mountain. Don't need a pass, just show up and shred!
