I agree...I LOVE Sabbath with Oz...in fact, I had a hard time accepting anyone singing for Sabbath but Oz. But looking back they made an AMAZING choice getting Ronnie to sing for them! He breathed new life into the band...and they kicked fucking ASS!!! Ronnie once said in an interview that when Sabbath decided to open for Ozzy, he couldn't be on board and quit the band, because they should headline, and they could have been the greatest band of all time if Tony hadn't agreed to open for Oz. He was very likely right. Sabbath with Dio was fucking INCREDIBLE!!!

Apart from playing outstanding bass lines, Geezer Butler on stage is more spectacular than Ozzy Osborne and, most certainly, Tony Iommi. I saw Sabbath’s “13” line-up live in Zurich back in 2014, I was standing in the front rows, with Butler just a few meters away from me, and what I saw was a show in the show.

People tend to criticize the production on Dehumanizer! It's a stand-out in the Sabbath catalogue and by far their heaviest release! Vinny's drums sound amazing and not drowned in reverb unlike most albums around at that time! A shame this album never got the attention it deserved, cos it is a beast!

It never got the attention, because Black Sabbath have drowned into nothing at that time. Nobody gave a shit about them after Mob Rules and after that people rather expected something like Heaven & Hell instead of something heavier.
I really appreciate all of their stuff tho, except for Seventh Star. But at that time the scene care for other music. I'm still thankful that they didn't go with the time and suddenly started to copy Pantera or, thank God, started that Nu Metal stuff. Instead they have tried to stay original.

thanks---Sab never did come to my home town, but i did get to Ozzy in 82 with Randy still. however, Dio was by far the most 'polished' singer, in which i don't think anyone much thought Ozzy was more of a singer then a personality, but i think his voice was meant to be part of Sab until 79, at least, when he got the boot. they were just trying to help him. it was in the 80s when i first started hearing people say 'where has the time gone,' and something odd did begin to happen to time then, and the Hopi Indian are supposed to know why, which is to do with a 'renewal period.'

I don't know about that. 2018 brought us Firepower, Prequelle, Down Below, Northern Chaos Gods and Trident Wolf Eclipse. Metal's nowhere near as visible as it was, but amazing material continues to be released.
