It was actually because the game uses baked lighting, which makes dynamically changing the lighting damn near impossible. (And yes, I've seen the fan attempts, they all look terrible and illustrate exactly why it doesn't work) Clearly they didn't think this far ahead when choosing to use baked lighting when they made base Mario Kart 8 in 2014, not anticipating they'd add a course like this as DLC. Not like they held a meeting in their offices in Kyoto and went "Hey, you know… that sun setting in Sunset Wilds is overrated… let's axe it."
As for my mario cart game plays I always start off on 50cc and only progress Into 150cc when I have better cart combinations I do the exact same thing for the other races as well
@hami5655 I don't normally play Mario games I'm more of a legend of zelda fan. I only started getting into Mario games 2 months ago. I'm still learning the names of the Mario games for the switch.
These new courses look great! The double dash recognition is also great! 🎉
Sad fact: the last lap of sunset wilds was supposed to be at night, but for some reason Nintendo though it was good idea removing that feature...
