This movie was actually my introduction to the Halloween franchise, and as a younger horror fan, I kinda liked it. It got me interested enough to watch all the other films. Now that I am an *older* horror fan, I recognize its flaws, but I have a fondness for this film that most don't because of the role it played.
Its not even the role it played. Had this been a stand alone horror movie with someone else stalking the kids instead of michael it'd still be a very bad movie with a very bad script but making it a halloween movie and killing off lauri while tainting that awesome end from h20 was just another nail in the coffin. I do understand what its like to have a fondness for bad/cheesy 90s to early 2000s movies
I grew up on the curse of michael and found it to he a pretty good horror movie as a kid but looking back now its soooo bad but I still have love for that movie because young me loved it
i always think of this one as an actual resurrection of michael myers the killer to the human after laurie dies in this one. everything that happens after that isnt really something he planned because he has finished everything on his to do list with taking out laurie so hes just going home to rest and the rampage is because there are trespassers in what he thinks is still his home. i always liked this one just because it was different. its terribly made and busta rhymes is literally the best part, but its still enjoyable.
I am so happy that Michael headbutting the window to go on to the roof was referenced. Me and my friends when this film was released rewound it over and over again laughing so much at it. Its still a joke we share to this day. It's hilarious.
I think the headline is saying that she was voted the most "community spirited teen," meaning that she was very involved in her community. The scene with Busta Rhymes kung fu fighting Michael Myers is solid gold schlock!
@@bladepuppetmaster1 here’s the plot synopsis Michael Myers roams free around Haddonfield again after the events of Halloween Resurrection, to haunt the survivors of his previous massacre and traumatize a new generation while the son of Laurie Strode, John Tate, goes to Haddonfield with the idea that the Shape is still alive and seeks out Leigh Bracket, to claim vengeance upon the masked killer.
I remember it being the only movie I had on VHS. The rest were recorded on tv. I liked the atmosphere it gave off in the first few minutes, but I do remember being more entertained than frightened by it. Great video man.
I totally agree with you there, my friend. Aside from The Shape and Laurie (epic fail with Laurie on that one), Busta was a huge reason as to why I was even remotely excited about Resurrection as a young kid back then. Regrettably though, the movie was a three-alarm dumpster fire in my and a lot of other people's opinions, aside from those three folks.
Funny, I was 10 when this came out on DVD, when DVD was in its beginning stages and it was a Christmas gift. It was probably one of my first DVDs I ever owned, I’ve been a true horror fan since I was a young boy. To this day, I have no regrets watching this over and over again when I was a boy. To this day, I’ll still watch it over and over again, also on streaming! Happy Halloween friends! 🎃
I got into this channel earlier in the year (or last year??) And was so sad when the Halloween series was left unfinished. I was looking forward to this month. Let's go, boys.
I think Resurrection was ahead of its time! It actually is a good representation of what would happen in today's world... true crime, teens/young adults desperate for attention, influencers, reality TV, livestreaming, social media etc etc. It definitely doesn't deserve the amount of hate it gets... it's not that bad.
All of this still applies to back then too. Everyone was on a reality show back then or had one. The reality shows back then we’re just wild and out there.
8:00 is also a callback to H20 when Laurie was looking into the glass window and sees Michael behind her and when she turns around, it was her teacher boyfriend, Will.
@National Sports Entertainment No it was stupid. They killed her off at the beginning of the movie? This is Laurie strode, she deserves a proper sendoff as the main character and at the end of the film, not go out in a whimper early on in the movie. Also yes, rick astley directing a Halloween movie would have been better than this movie.
Before you skip to the rebooted 2018 timeline, you have to do the ninth entry in the series. The one that ties Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, Halloween 4 Return, Halloween 5 Revenge, Halloween Curse, H20, & Halloween Resurrection into one timeline and continuity. I've enjoyed the Halloween Things You Missed! 🎃
I know this movie is bad, but I can't help but love it. The twist of how Michael survived H20 blew my tiny little mind back in the day. The ghost hunting show concept is really fun, even if executed poorly, and the 1v1 with Busta Rhymes is so dumb, but I had fun watching it. Bad but fun is the MO for most major slasher series, and most of the time it gives them a level of charm for me. Resurrection is just a guilty pleasure, I guess lol Love the vids btw! Love seeing all the little easter eggs and background details I never saw :)
The "twist" of how Michael survived was stupid and didn't make any sense. It's no way Michael would've had time to do all of that. Crushes the Paramedic's throat, Strips Paramedic completely naked, He gets naked, Puts on the Paramedic outfit, takes his mask off, puts it on the Paramedic... So Resurrection really expected us to believe that Michael just left his "mask" on the Paramedic and was just walking around maskless. He's also shown to be walking around with his big 🔪... I mean the flashbacks they gave us from H20 were just plot holes left and right.
@@iamovoxo25 everyone else would’ve focused on the ambulance Laurie was leaving in with “Michael” and we don’t know how much time there was between Michael swapping outfits and “Michael” being loaded into the ambulance

B.S. That WHOLE retcon makes absolutely zero sense and the writers clearly didn't know where they were going with that. It definitely wasn't well thought out.
Thank you for making a video that allows me to experience resurrection from a safe distance. It's genuinely the only non-zombie halloween film that makes me gag. I would watch revenge before resurrection any day
One major thing you missed. Myers doesn’t get punked out by Freddie. I heard a rumor that just before Busta comes through the door, you pause it and there is a still frame of Decker coming to save the girl instead that they left in. It is like they replaced the Decker ending with the other one and accidentally left a split second still in.
They should do found footage of him within the off times of the timelines. Introduce more lore to the franchise, turn it into a criminal minds type thing lmao
Someone should do a movie where a killer gets all his victims and they all find a way to come back and start hunting him . He could be stuck in an old house with zombies, ghost and other things.
