    "Do the dog!" The party clearly got better by the time they got to the final take. Thanks for posting, can't get enough of Disraeli Gears! In credible that such a masterpiece was bashed out in just a few days, There's another good studio LP's worth in "Wheels of fire" and "Goodbye" but without the same magic.

    There wasn't an audio engoneer who could control that Cream volume. Especially on Gingers Bass Drums...Godspeed Jack and Ginger...

    It's from a slightly earlier recording session - the one that produced the 5 demos that were released on the deluxe edition 2CD. There is a further 44 minutes of the tape on my channel (multiple takes of 6 more tracks).

    some of the audio for these takes is used in the life in 12 bars documentary when talking about clapton in the studio for the bluesbreakers lp. Great noodles at the start.

    I've never heard these takes before. Definitely shows that it isn't perfect the first try and that Clapton was still learning a lot of things. March '68 was peak for them and Eric had found a cool style that was most interesting.

    Clapton is still smoking hot, even we he makes mistakes! I give up! Why should I even ATTEMPT to play my guitar?

    • @jakejohnson168
      @jakejohnson168 9 лет назад +2

      He played a lot and with great musicians. You may surpass Clapton if you keep at it and you will sound smokin', even with mistakes thrown in.

    Claptons playing is so inspired. Too bad he lost the spark someplace along the way to all those miserable albums

    eric played a black les paul custom until early 1967, before they started recording disraeli gears. It was stolen, and then he switched to SG

  • @socrates1818

    Is Eric playin a Les paul here? Almost certainly

      Brooks Reed could be his 335 or firebird, sounds to mid pushy to be a les Paul.

    Great band but Jack Bruce was the best musician in the band: superb bass chops and a great voice. Baker was a shit drummer.

    • @randallkennedy2066

      Baker was a better drummer than Bruce was a singer.

      @@randallkennedy2066 nope. Saw Cream and Bruce owned the stage. He was a trained brilliant musician. Baker was stiff, unmusical and puked on the stage due to heroin.
