Didn't know Minakuchi Engineering were Mega Man fans. Their first batch of games for the series doesn't show that too well, lol. At least they gradually got better over time. On another note, that anger emote radiates some ominous energy. Befitting of your avatar, I suppose. Such a relief you were freed of that wretched curse, though.
Yeah, Dr Wily's Revenge isn't very good. Personally I'd give it a similar 4/10 and would also call it lacking. Glad my copy only cost me 75 cents when FuncoLand was shutting down. Looking forward to the next upload.
This game is really rough around the edges, but I look at this as an experiment on what works and what doesn't, just like with the first three NES MM games. For the good it possesses, it fumbles horrifically with poor design choices, bad level design, and the weird physics (which admittedly didn't bother me as much, but that's subjective). You're better off skipping this and Mega Man World 2 because 3 and onwards are where the GB series gets better.
I think this game is usually judged too harshly, and this video seems to be no exception. Sure, it's not that great when it comes to level design - especially when compared to the later Game Boy games - and the difficulty is artificial at times, but I would still give it at least 5/10. It can still be an enjoyable experience once you are familiar with the game. By the way, condemning a music to be "too happy" because it doesn't fit with the name is backwards; the music was created first, and the game's original name in Japan is "Rockman World". "Dr. Wily's Revenge" was given afterwards for the western market, so if you have an issue with its incompatibility with the final stage's music, DeMontropolis, criticize the name, not the music.
pin this
I think he did

Another really good video, Dem! Can't wait for MM3

As someone who has played all the gameboy games, only play IV and V

For some reason i really like how they kept the same sprite size but shrunken the rooms for the gameboy.
Why did Wily have a random space shuttle in his lair?
It’s never explained, but that’s just what I think. Maybe Mega Man borrowed the shuttle from NASA, who knows…
An even bigger question is why it didn't have the common skull motif.
It's bad but I like it
Pls do mega man V gameboy next
3/10?!?!?!? thats way to high

Giving this one the same rating as II is straight up unfair.
This one is at least a challenge and has great music.
II ist just boring and bad.
