Because you create a new variable for the reverse scoring, you can just NOT use the newly created variable -- no need to undo anything. You can just use the original variable. Does that make sense?
Because your response options do not contain negative numbers or a zero, I would recommend taking your highest response option and adding 1 (4+1 = 5), and subtracting responses on your original variable from 5. So, in your situation, 1 would become a 4 (5-1 =4), 2 would become a 3 (5-2 =3), a 3 would become a 2 (5-3 =2), 4 would become 1 (5-4 =1). I hope this helps!
you saved me thank you so much
Super helpful and clear - thanks for this video!!!
Thanks for your work, it is so transparent!
Do you actually consider the Likert scale as continuous or is it just for the sake of computation?
I did reversed score variables in Jamovi, but I want to undo the reverse. How do I do this?
