Honestly, the full Phillips Head screw tool is enough to make this perferable over the Wave or any other similar leatherman. I cannot stress enough how leathermans strip Phillips head screws like they are made of butter.
I have both the Gerber Center Drive, and two Suspension NXT's and that is one thing I love about those two multi-tools. I have one of the NXT's in my backpack, and the other in my EDC bag. I keep the Center Drive at home for everyday use.
I just grabbed one at the local Walmart tonight for $9.61 after tax. It was marked as $29.99 but I wasn’t going to argue. I’m not a lover of Gerbers products but couldn’t pass this up for that price. Hellavuh lot cheaper than a Leatherman!
A fair comparison is to the Leatherman wingman which still costs almost twice as much. Sad about the weak detent on the tools but that is something that could be an easy fix. Thanks for showing 🍻🍻 BB
Just purchased the suspension nxt today. I think Gerber makes great products. Wish they had better steel for knives but they do well for what they are. Very excited to use this multi tool as my edc.
Just ordered the Gerber Suspension to replace my Bear Grylls Gerber multi tool simple because of the philips screw driver and pocket clip got it for $28 off Amazon

Once again Gerber good idea...terrible execution LOL! That file is a joke. The primary blade falls short, not to mention it's what 4 I ches wide when it's closed at its base. Sure it's inexpensive. But if I'm in need of a tool, I want a QUALITY tool, a life may depend on it.

Maybe the screws are loose. Try tightening the screws. I had this problem with a mossy oak multitool and tightening resolved the dropping.
Leathermans do pinch and you have to be very careful using the pliers. Gerbers have more bang for the buck.

Good review. I like the weight, pocket clip and tool set- if only Gerber crammed a saw on it it would be perfect at it’s price point.
mickmook the old version had one but I guess you can use the serrated edge too
To be fair, you'll never actually use the saw. Things you'll need it for you can break with your hands.

If you tighten the star head screws at the end the tools won't pop out when closing the pliers
6:15 . the newest Leatherman Free that costs a whopping $130 has this same flaw.

Uh oh, those tools can rip the inside of your pocket when they got loose.
the pliers on this one stay closed really well in your pocket, though.
The Wave is a much better multi tool.
