Cudos to Donny Watson Transport for allowing the filming. A great insite on how hard these guys work away from their families to deliver us just about everything we have in our homes. Keep up the great work Bro !
I love the K200, and the right hand drive. Wish they would make K200’s here in the States. Just discovered your channel, and I enjoy it immensely.. be safe brotha 😊
15:42 Here in the States, we don't have cab over trucks anymore, they've pretty much been replaced with big-nose trucks (cab-overs were very common when I was growing up as a kid and a teen in the '60s and '70s). Nice to see Australia did not abandon cab-over trucks. Hello from the US!
Hey mate, I just stumbled across your RUclips page and I must say its bloody brilliant to see someone speak the truth and show genuine content. Keep up the great work mate. Be careful using the go pro hand held when driving with all the camera's around though
Here’s a trick I had beach then when I had an auto road ranger; when you jake put it in “L”, it’ll automatically downshift to 2000ish on jake when braking. Once you’re done slowing down slap it back in auto or manual. Cheers mate from Canada
You should see all the footage I cut out of the reverse haha it was the worst reversing I’ve ever done I just made it look like I done a good job in the edit 😂😂
Another cool video bro. The content and your comments are very interesting. I thought about trying Interstate when I got here but got a job driving a Loader at Yatala, been there 16 years now. Keep up the awesome work bro.
Awesome video bro great work travel safe also at Ballina service my dad almost crashed into a car because the car didn’t indicate properly and he had to slam on the breaks
Awsome video mate, big fan of the Donny Watson trucks always pass them m1 Newcastle to Sydney! This video is exactly what I was looking for when I searched .. been a big dream of myn since a kid to do this line of work
Well done mate bloody brilliant video. Love how you keep it real it’s all the little points of information that make the videos interesting so keep up the work. Mate backing trailers come with experience it just gets easier and easier. I dragged a set of triples east to west and back again then on the last trip to Townsville I was braking them up outside of town and in front of 6 other drivers absolutely kooked backing a single and the dolly 🤦♂️. Keep it safe out there man and have a good one
Just stumbled across your vlog and can’t agree more with looking like an amateur reversing in doubles I remember my first time it was at smeaton grange coles took me a bit but got there in the end Keep up the good work
road trains after 2 months. wow :-) My old boss wouldnt let me go further than 200km in a double. after 6 months of mc local work. Im currently on 9 weeks holiday before looking elsewhere
Goodstuff. Good to hear on the licensing and how your venture started out there. Great video. You explained your trip well. I like that they have stairs for the trucks to clean the windshields at the fuel stops. Also; are those two bars on the windshield for kangaroo bprotection?!? If so, that’s crazy!
This was a good video man. I am a truck driver too. I how you wear flip flops 🩴while trucking. I do the same thing too. I like how you were barefooted 👣 in the truck 🚛 because I do the same thing too. All I wear is flip flops all year long Even when it's cold outside. I just found your channel & I like what you are doing. Keep up the good work man.

I drive a fat cab in NZ same big bunk we have the other version as well with single bunk probley prefer that just to be able to move around. Hard to beat the hi rise rgc tho for space. Awesome videos and best of luck with the venture...oh and changes I like the trip prep and talking more than str8 video scenery but reckon your guna kill it. Good luck cross family.
I’ve heard that about the freight liners brothe thanks very much 👍 I would love to make a video series coming back home to drive for a couple weeks that would be insane
@Cross Family Trucking bro ment to say u were on point with the backing...couple years u been driving doubles but backed it like an an ace. Keep rollin keep safe but keep the hammer down
The V cans are not sugar free brother, they still full of rubbish sweeteners.. get rid of energy drinks they are the WORST! I drank a lots myself n driving, thinking it’s sugar free.. my health is so much better without it. Lots of water and some coffee brother is all you need 👍🏻
You should ask if you're allowed to take the young man with you. Although I guess you'd need a day trip or an overnighter and back to make it possible. I used to love going in the truck with my dad when I was young, best memories I have I reckon. Watsons are good for giving people with no experience a go. I went to work for them in Derrimut at one point, I had no semi experience or anything. I only wanted to do local though and they wanted 14 hours everyday, so factoring in travel times etc it would have been a 16 hour day everyday from when I left home and got back again, just wasn't worth it for me.
Enjoying the videos mate. I drive a B double just local around Geelong/Melbourne but have always had a slight interest in doing the longer distance stuff like this. Watching your vids is making me even more keen to give it a go
@@crossfamilytrucking Definitely warming to the idea. The thing that daunts me the most is just driving in unfamiliar cities and the thought of taking a wrong turn and getting stuck somewhere. But I guess as long as you plan your trip right you should be fine
Yeah planning ahead is usually the best way to avoid going down the wrong road but that daunting feeling when your going into a new place never goes away brother it’s apart of the job 👍 hopefully see you on the highway some day
Im not a truck driver. When you mention "road trains", are they what we know as "B Triples" in Victoria that have a 3rd trailer connected to the 2nd on a turntable? I've seen road trains that are a set of dog trailers with wheels at each end they connect through a draw bar and hitch. I've seen them in outback NSW and QLD and signs restricting where they can drive.
Road trains are everything you’ve just mentioned mate there’s tonnes of different road train combinations b triples and Adoubles which are what we tow are only a couple of them
@Cross Family Trucking thanks for clarifying 👍. I admire you guys driving them, and always give you guys a lot of space when I'm overtaking or you're turning.

Or compliance through the company I've been doing buses want to upgrade I have hrb I want to upgrade to my multi open I just don't have two grand. This is awesome content. Question. How do you guys sleep at night when it’s hot? Does the cab have an air con that can run at night? Cheers and stay safe on the road mate.
Yeah mate there’s a bunch of different air con systems we call them bunk coolers the one I’ve got isn’t very good so I just sleep with the windows down when it’s hot 👍
