    What a TOP film.
Beautiful Claudette, and the king, Clark Gable.
Just finished it again, after have not seen it for many a year.
They DO NOT make them like that anymore.

Released in the golden era of hollywood in 1934, this movie is regarded as all time classic and has inspired numerous movies in different languages across the world. Bollywood too has either lifted the entire plot frame by frame or have taken so called inspiration from this in a number of movies. This notably include raj kapoor classic chori chori( as the name is justified) and aamir khan starrer dil hai ki manta nahin released in 90's. Dev anand's solvaan saal in later 50 's was too inspired from this movie. Clark gayble is all time great actor of hollywood. His charismatic persona has reflected in his own style of dialogue delivery and expression. The story of a runaway daughter of an affluent father meets a struggling photo journalist and they fall in love and the girl was found by her father while he was away for arranging the money. She is about to marry a rich and he arrives with the bill he has spent on her while she was with him. Her father thinks he has came for the hefty prize which he had announced for one who would found her daughter. But this honest and not so practical gentleman has no interest in the reward but only wants the bill amount which is just a fraction of the award money. At this junction of the climax, all emotions seem to get united and flow as an excitement with mixed emotional outburst in return as well. What makes this movie a gem among all time classics is the flow of the story as a reflection of our own desires meeting with our dream but somewhere in our heart is alive an attitude of our own subsistence as what we are irrespective of our struggle to survive. What matters most is ability to live life on our own morality and beliefs with honesty.

I haven’t watched it yet but it also sounds a bit like DDLJ. I can already see Bollywood has borrowed loads from this classic.

I also learned today, hence why I sought this trailer out, that Clark Gable's character was actually the inspiration for Bugs Bunny. His mannerisms, and way of speaking, especially the scene of him eating the carrot by the roadside, became the foundation for Bugs' persona. At one point, someone even calls him "Doc", another idea purposely carried over.
