I remember when I (tentatively) purchased Encre Noire because I'd watched a few reviews which said it smelled "like death", smelled aweful etc.. when I got it and smelled it, I fell in love with the damp/brightness of that Vetiver. ! I also got SOO MANY compliments from co-workers that I ended up with a backup. Gorgeous scent!

@@YoTratoYTrato vetiver is such a delight for those who appreciate it. I truly love it. I kinda think it's like gin, if you have the right expectations, or even low ones, the first time you smell it, you'll be more likely to enjoy it.

@@joesmellsgood Damn, they're not what I expected at all. Based on the sum of all reviews I had watched or read I expected something along the lines of Terre D'Hermes (cause 1. Vetiver, 2. Strong, polarizing reactions along with the hype around these scents)
I can definitely appreciate the uniqueness and the quality of these scents but in my mind if TDH is a scent that asserts masculine competence then the original EN isn't even Batman, rather what a Batman's bookshelf or a closet would smell like. There's no libido in the original EN at all.
EN sport - the aquatic notes make it much more wearable. I see this as a good casual all-year-rounder for when one wishes to project an aura of indifference from a position of superiority lol

@@Danucis haahahaha well said. I am not sure if i mentioned it in the video, but I mowed lawns for many years when i was younger, so vetiver comes across to me very nostalgic, but I get that it's polarizing. I am hoping to get Encre Indigo soon and do another update video on vetiver. Thanks letting me know though, I am genuinely interested in other people's reactions to these. The last thing I'd say is to give em some time, there are so many fragrances I have now that I was middling on when I first got them, but now have a strong love for.

@@joesmellsgood Gave the original EN a bit more wear and I think I'll utilize it as a nice substantial base component for layering
EN still occupies mostly the ''lower octave'' range of the olfactory composition to me and is asking for some supplementation in the brighter, more lively note range to complete the composition. Soy sauce is great but you want a lil' bit of that orange and crispy chicken on the plate too, hehe
Looking forward to your Encre Indigo review tho. Much love🤘

@@Danucis great description! The good news is that vetiver is extremely versatile so you could theoretically use EN as a base for a lot of frags. Could be interesting to try with something like Club Black to see how it works with sweet vanilla or something like Tuscan Leather to see what that'd be like... You've piqued my interest!

@joesmellsgood so they came in the post yesterday. I enjoyed them both. However, still I find Encre Noire Sport to be my favourite. The original is very similar to sport with the Musk and earthy vetiver ever so slightly more prominent. Á L'Extrême had a strange almost rubbery opening but that faded for me nearly immediately and the dry down is a lot more balsamic and ambery whilst maintaining the Encre Noire DNA. Very good fragrances for me and I very enjoyed them. Loved your review and hope to see more in the future💪

Amazon has them for a decent price usually. You can also get them at discounters like Jomashop and Fragrancebuy.ca. Perfumeonline.ca is also a site I've used a couple times. I got mine from Amazon and Fragrance Buy personally.
