It shows through the most during the WW 2 story bit from the comics where he’s just directly talking through a mouthpiece about how hero comics are a sinister and disgusting thing that takes attention away from real heroes. American soldiers. Like he really really just went off in that chapter about how soldiers are real heroes who need to be praised and then he had the mouthpiece character kill Captain America. Or at least the knockoff Captain America from the comics. Which really just goes to show he’s kind of a hack who doesn’t know what he’s talking about as it’s fairly well known that A) Captain America was created as a direct political statement that America should join the war, (they hadn’t yet. It was really controversial at the time to depict a guy in an American flag costume punching another world leader in the face) And B) Soldiers on the front line fucking loved Captain America. They were always happy to get some media from back home to keep the spirits up and cap did just that. Garth Enis may have written some good stories but he can be just a vile person and it’s something to praise how different the show turned out.

This is why I dislike the comics. The creator just really hated superhero’s and wanted to right a way too long story about his cool guys in trench coats killing superheroes but to make us not feel bad about them killing supes they made them comically evil. And all of them are evil in the same way. It’s like that squidward scene from SpongeBob. “Uhhh So this hero did bad stuff but it was hidden by vought. “How original” Uhhh and the supe is a sex offender. “Daring today aren’t we?”
I started the diabolical animated amazon prime series but i had no idea it was about to start to be this good, because at least the first 3 episodes were just them goofying around without saying any lines. It was like literally watching some mute cartoon from the 50's.

This one is canon to the comics (nice that we get an animated addition for comic readers), and the final episode with Homelander and Black noir is canon to the show (it’s a fun prequel, and Eric Kripke liked it so much that he himself said it was canon to the show) -I enjoy the different animation styles and different storytelling in each episode. It made the whole show fun. -Some of them are fun actual What Ifs for either the comics or the show. -My “headcanon” at the VERY least is that the anime episode about the old lady with cancer IS also canon to the show, especially now that season 4 has finished. Watch that episode and look what has happened to Butcher, and tell me it isn’t pretty much the same exact thing. -The character of Hughie was literally originally designed after Simon Pegg, so it was already fun when he was cast as Hughie’s dad in the show. But in this episode (again, canon to those same comics), Simon got to voice Hughie himself. Fuck yeah.
Take note, that after the supes intestines are coming out of his body you can see poop on his shorts. Because realistically, if your guts are coming out of your body, it’s ALL going to come out from one end.
