I’m happy with this scene….
What they had wasn’t love but some sort of selfish self indulgence of their own misery and a passive aggressive act of rebellion. Had he married her, I have no doubt that he would’ve cheated and she would’ve been come even more controlling than she already is.

I think Ruohua is a very traumatized hold and adult…. And just her desires to be independent of her mother make her to do silly outcomes….. is a very pity that many Asian dramas show this aspect of dominant parents, the preferences of sons over daughters … I pity her very much
