LISTEN: 505 games used to own Overkill and Starbreeze. When they split, I KNEW there would be a caveat, a hair in the soup. This is it. Overkill got to keep the PAYDAY brand and name, but 505 games took the game with them. They are now remaking Payday 3 from scratch. This was originally Payday 3 but they renamed it.
Or it will be the Payday 3's competition, or just another Back 4 Blood for Payday 2.
Either way, it's good to have competition and other similar games released to close together. So one game can't just assume everyone will buy it, and will have to put out more good content :)

@Freesmart Yes but actually no. Back 4 blood proved how important valve is to left 4 dead, the fact that they canceled "left 4 dead 3" shows that they were right.
I don't think this should be classed as "Competition" this seems like the type of game that will die on release.

Payday 3 can STILL have hostage negotiation mechanics, where cops arent dumb to just storm in with hostages on the line and bomb-rigged doors.
Gives me Raid WW2 vibes. If this is Payday 3's competition its looking pretty lax and cash grabbable.

I feel like I would be more hopeful about this if they didn't go so hard on the casting. It looks good when you're showing it off in a trailer but I doubt they'll be able to get consistent performances out of all of them. It also could limit new content after release because if it warrants new voicelines it could be pretty expensive to get the actors. Don't like being a debbie downer but I am pretty jaded to this kind of stuff

Jokes aside, as someone who has more than 1000 hours on Payday competition is good, I am a sucker for coop heisting games so the more the better.
I'm also VERY excited for whatever 10 Chambers will come up with, a techno thriller heisting game, as they call it, sounds quite interesting.
So a Cyberpunkish Payday? I can also roll with it. Payday 3 within the modern day, Crime Boss for 90's heistin' and whatever 10 Chambers makes for future.

Gameplay wise looks ok, but personality, it looks dull, it's not gonna last
I don't really like how slow the interactions look and the animations on some of them, but I'm definitely down to try this game out.
Some of the animations are plagiarized from mw2019
GTA Online heist is just regular gta combat, not "heist" at all, certainly no objectives like payday, only "drive here". Its also restarting if you die once
game looks like the bastard child of saint row and payday the heist. the gameplay doesn't showcase skill trees or class/perkdeck so it seems like a more narrative driven experience like cod campaign than an actual high octane gun based rpg that payday 2 was. if both game stay in their lane they might both be great games
Calling this competition is crazy especially when we haven’t seen payday 3 gameplay 💀
Even if Payday 3 come out, I think I would still prefer Payday 2.
