Day 1: Checking out the sights on a bike is one of my favorite ways to see the world. Whether it’s your home town or a city half way around the world, like Jack said, it’s a treat to find things you would have never guessed were there. Had a bit of a chuckle because knowing when, where, what, and how to eat definitely takes some practice, but don’t worry EJ, everyone has messed that up before. If they say they haven’t, they’re lying. Day 2: Impromptu group rides like that are so fun. Makes the miles fly by. Love seeing EJ’s face during those last miles and when he finished. Is there any other way to do your first century?! And then getting super tired sitting in the confession chair was hilarious. Can’t count how many times I’ve done that and fallen asleep after a huge ride. Can’t wait for Part 2!
This comment made my day! Thank you for believing in me figuring out how to Eat 😂 Man it was tough to finish that century but so glad we got it done. Thank you for the support Will!
Nice work. This is a super entertaining way to get the miles in - the partnership of you two, supplemented by the Strava group joiners and the cameo riders makes for some very engaging content. Can’t wait for part 2.
Last year did 2100 km / 21 day during company challenge and it was quite complicated in the end due fatigue from constant cycling itself and cycling alone everyday before and after work. You have a companion and i think it will be much easier for you to accomplish your goal) Have a nice rides during this epic journey!
As a former heavy person who lost a ton of weight cycling and now races as a cat 1, the biggest thing holding me back is likely diet. I love to eat, I don’t have the discipline I used to have when I was originally losing my 80 lbs, and I really struggle to get out of the “calorie deficit” mindset when I’m on the bike. I ask all my teammates and friends to keep my accountable and remind me to eat. Don’t diet on the bike. Not sure if this was also a bit of why you weren’t eating as much but just an insight. Love your journey and Jeff is a great guy, you’re in awesome hands.
Awesome stuff! Hope by the end of it you talk about metrics like weight/power/heart rate etc etc going in and after the 692 miles...curious what that did to your body.
I love the views and dedication! fwiw don't think you need to take both hands off to eat. I [usually] don't feel comfortable taking both hands off to eat either. Not because of handling exactly but because of narrow/non-existent road shoulders, traffic and random wind gusts. I tear the tops of my gels with my mouth and have gotten pretty good at rolling the wrapper with one hand.
As the video came to an end, I was concerned you were injured after the first century until you said, “next part drops on 1/16”. Keep killing it out there!
My suggestion would be to ride the new S-Works Turbo Creo SL EVO with Elon following in the chase vehicle charging new batteries. No harm no foul since Specialized claims it's you only faster?
You could get 3 other RUclipsrs and do the RAAM in June. That would be epic... I was support for a team that did in 6 days and 9 minutes. The goal was to do it under 6 days so they were 9 minutes short...
Love seeing the whoop data. However, I don’t understand why there is such a wide discrepancy between Jackson and EJ. Jackson burned 1567 cal on Monday and EJ burned 4393. And they both did the same ride? Anyone know what I’m missing?
First of all the burned calories data is not really accurate and will depend of how much informations you have put in the app ( your resting HR, your weight, your FTP, ect...). Secondly, EJ is a pro and his HR is probably very low during those rides, (he is probably barely in zone 2 actually) this play a huge factor in your calories burned at the end of the day :)
@@Thom4aa4s Ah, that makes sense. EJ's heart may have been beating like a hummingbird and Jackson's like a whale. No offense EJ. I'm a hummingbird that has yet to do a century so you have me beat. :) I still find it interesting in being able to compare between the two with the whoop data. I hope they continue to display it.
Nice start 👍 This project turned into how pros would train in the past . Past meaning 5to8 years ago. Do you guys have a Strava? Don't remember if I found you or not. Looking forward to the next upload. And who is that cute dog? 🦮😊
Hahahah yeah they would just go out and crush miles right?? We both have Strava! The dog is Emmy hahaha. She’s very cute!! Thank you for the support! 🙏
Thanks for letting us be a part. Great job out there. Back to back long days is next level. Can't wait to see the rest of your crit racing journey
Thank you for your miles Boys! Keep crushing it!
This was awesome. Congrats on the first century. Jackson is a legend, you are lucky to have him with you on those rides!

@@norcalfullraces Glad to offer support because it's so fun to watch you discover cycling. Plus it's highly entertaining while I'm on the trainer.

Congratulations guys.
Great content.
Excited to see how you battled the weather in the upcoming videos.
already know this is gonna be an absolute BANGER before watching - keep it up brother!!
Great job on your first century! I still remember my first century; that feeling of accomplishment sticks with you.
It’s freaking awesome man! Thank you for the support!

Thanks for getting me pumped to ride longer again. I’ve really just been commuting but want to ride the GBD and need to start training. Keep it up.
Interesting to see the handlebar packs on the day2 cameo. Congrats all.
This is great content for a "second channel"! I've bought right in!
Good luck for the season - I'm sure you'll smash it!
Thank you! 🙏

"struggles with hands off the bars" proceeds to go-pro for miles on end 🤣🤣🤣
Great video man, keep up the good work.
Hahahah one hand off the bike is fine but the minute you bring the other one off I end up in the ditch 😂

Oh that’s really good advice! Will definitely try that! Thank you!
really enjoying the channel.
Seem to be hanging out with good people both thru SM and IRL so good things will happen.
ride safe and all the best
Amazing video bro keep it going love to see the Journey
Thank you! 🙏
This is a blast. Great performance on the first century.
Thank you! 🙏
Amazing ride and keep going 🚲🚲 Greetings from Germany
I was feeling tired laying in my bed and this video motivated me enough to get on Zwift and smash a race. Awesome 👌
LETS GO! I love that! 🙏
Congrats on the first century!
Thank you!!!
Awesome work! Great video!
Very cool and MOTIVATING Gents!!
Thank you for the support!
I waited for this video im exited
Sorry I missed the Zwift ride. Good luck in racing this year.

Awesome!! Can only imagine what it's like cycling in California. Minnesota SUCKS in the winter for cycling 🥶🥶🥶
HAHAHA I will say it’s much better here than there 😂
Loving this!
Cool fact about Gu recycling ALL sports nutrition wrappers!
Epic!
is there a link to the video about jackson's s5?
We haven’t made one yet! But I can definitely make a video!
@NorCal Cycling 2 that would be dope. I saw you guys rolling footage of it in this video
Well Done
Respect!
Top tip. Cut the tops off the bar packets before starting the ride.
That is a good idea! Thank you!
Sounds healthy!
You guys are willld
Put your food in a sandwich bag and leave it open so you can grab it quickly. Nice ride!
Oh that’s a great idea! Definitely going to try that! Thank you!!
Next time say if this video gets X likes I will ride X miles.
I think I learned my lesson 😂

I like that suggestion too and it would be fair since you are still pedaling.
My man’s entered the pain cave
HAHAH I was hurting for sure!

Jack is a pro and I’m not hahah that’s basically what it comes down to. His heart rate stays way lower than mine burning less calories 🙏

+100 miles for the lettuce coming out of your helmet.
Dang :/ okay…
i think you could save like 40 watts with a better fitting jacket
Hahahah yeah i learned that later on in the week. Good call! 🙏
"For every one like this video gets in the first 24 hours, I will eat one burrito the week of January 16th-January 22nd."
I like this video concept 🤔
#KeepItInThePants
The biggest mistake all cyclists do is not eating enought. Im 62 kgs and try to eat 60 g of carbohydrates per hour
I learned that so quickly! It’s a really good tip. Thank you! 🙏
BTW it’s ok to stop and eat your food 😅
Need a better fit jacket and ditch the parachute!!!!
HAHAHA I learned that in part 2 trust me 🤣
who else feels cheated?
Me :/
Nice start 👍
