Yeah, but the MSRP of that thing was a total scam - a whole $1200 for a relatively small improvement over the 1080 Ti, which retailed at about $700 MSRP and had the same amount of VRAM.

The 1080 ti was 60% to 70% faster than the 980 ti which is the same between the 3090 to 4090 but the impressive thing for the 1080 ti is its price back there

Card was an actual beast for the time and especially the price. I paid 800€ for mine and it ran 4k max settings fine for 4 years straight. The 2080ti was actually slower in rasterization. If the 4090 was sold for the price of a 4080 it would definitely rival it, but it's sold for a ridiculous premium.

I have been using a 1050 Ti for six or something years now, and its retirement is getting closer and closer, but it has held up incredibly well during all these years. Finally retiring my old PC is going to feel like sending your child to university, gone but still proud lol

bro what first of all nvidia doesnt make the cooling systems, they make the gpu itself, the founders edition didnt have cooling problems, also most cases have a 360mm gpu clearance which was more than enough for the 3090, launch price was 1499 and 4090 is 1599, and it was the king of gaming before the 4090 came out, it wasnt weak

@@crimsonscriticalcorner9048 that's kind of how technological advancements work. cores get more efficient over time, so you can achieve the same thing as last gen with smaller and less power-hungry dies. as lauded as the 1080 ti is, its power efficiency for the performance isn't great compared to equivalently performing GPUs. so is the 1080 ti bad? many people don't think so.

well, as for me, the best line of video cards for the last 5-7 years have been from 1050 to 3070ti rtx, these video cards were worth their money and were so stable
It's important to mention that the 3090 is like the 4090. You don't need a new one, it already performs amazingly. You can also upgrade the VRAM of a graphics card to make it faster.

Didn't have to do the 600 and 900 series like that. I remember booting up BF3 with a freshly installed 660 SC. Put all of the graphics to max. Looked beautiful and ran like a dream. 970 is still somehow able to play modern games at medium settings when almost a decade old. Almost forgot but I got a little cheeky and hooked up my VR to the 660. It somehow ran it. Not pretty, but it ran it.

(для тех кто не понял, в 690 установлено 2 чипа от 680, и кто на этом моменте подумал что это x2 прирост производительности сильно ошиблись, ведь по сути, это режим sli который не дает по сути почти никакого прироста, в среднем 5-10фпс, но в играх которые оптимизированы под sli будет давать не маленький прирост производительности, но цена у этой карточки была просто бешенная на тот момент, как и тдп, ведь по сути, они просто умножили все характеристики 680. Отсюда выходит, что, тепловыделение было огромным, в сравнении у GTX 680 TDP 195w, у GTX 690 в свою очередь 300w. По сути смысла в этой карточке не было, это была просто гонка Nvidia и AMD. По началу они получили сильную популярность, но после выявления всех минусов (цена,перегрев,малый прирост производительности, энергопотребление и тротлинг) видеокарты постепенно покинули рынок) Я не знаю зачем все это сейчас рассказал.
