I lost my mind when I started TK's Hard Mode trial and the theme I'm used to hearing suddenly shifted to this... I'm glad it still plays during her skill activation, too! Now, Save The Future spoilers under the cut... ...can we talk about how the very likely reason Director Croissant Cookie started searching for and traveling into time pockets is because she was looking for Timekeeper? How absolutely depressing it is that Timekeeper kept seeing herself DYING and this sent her into such a depressive spiral she went out of her way to isolate herself from even the one person who truly cared about her? Which, ironically, was none other than her own past self? The lore behind her legendary costume is genuinely depressing, I'd honestly say it's even sadder than the lore behind Sea Fairy's. And what's more heartbreaking, is that even though it is by all means Croissant's actions that led to this, even OUR Timekeeper still blames herself, and seems to feel that String Gummy's hatred of her is completely justified.
Technically, no croissant isnt past TK since its confirmed in this update cuz theres literally future croissant and she still needs her timecraft but yeah jeez devsis how the f**k did we go to christmas to suffering
@@Icedicere I think TK is still a far-off future Croissant; she still says they're the the same person in Operation Timeguard, and that future version of Croissant we do see still seems to be going through the "Timekeeperification" process for lack of better terms, what with her left eye changing color, and in her back-facing sprite you'll actually notice the back of her hair has that spiral pattern going that Timekeeper has, as well as smaller design elements like her pants and shoes being like TK's. Director Croissant also has a scar beneath her right eye, while Ephemeral Timekeeper has a crack beneath her right eye; I think the idea is that Director Croissant and Ephemeral TK are just alternate future versions of our Croissant and TK, but no matter what timeline, TK is still a future version of Croissant who basically ascended to Time-Godhood. That said, I do still believe that TK being such a drastically different person from Croissant that she can even continue to exist after Croissant vowed to be the best mechanic ever instead goes to show that they're basically different people at this point.

You have NO IDEA how absolutely freak out I am when I hear this theme for the first time while playing the new map. Just looks at the background! It basically Endless Time Rift but everything… was so dark, a lot of objects were shattered, broken. Universe with full of stars got replaced with wormholes that contains forgotten timelines… (CREPPY & CRAZY)
I love this theme. It feels calm and relaxing as if finally taking a rest but it also feels twisted, just like Timekeeper cookie giving up and going into a time pocket

I feel those universes are more connected to accounts, even if the game is deleted the account still exists, so the universe is in a stasis/standby mode if you delete the game but not your account. The game just provides a place for that universe to exist in.

You called for your family, but they are not there. You called for your loved ones, but they are not there.. You're alone. You're alone, in this endless white colored nightmare. Isolated and scared, *but nobody is there to help you...*
this captures some sort of feeling, a hopeless yet hopeful cycle. somewhat longing? the ticking noises are also gone, the only instruments are the synths, whatever is in the main melody, and the string plucking. it really suits this timekeeper / costume's lore- seeing an endless amount of death with her (and others i think.) you'd want to prevent it, but maybe that'd cause an error in a way, or she thought it would ruin the "fun." whatever the reason, she chose to isolate herself. and all that's left is her and whatever lies in the time pocket.
I remember getting the Abyss of the Ephemeral Flow Legendary Costume in the S8 Infinite Gacha... I didn't even realize it'd happened. I've never gotten that lucky with Costumes in the regular draws at all.
