I wish I thought of this as well, I danced with speed bottle in one hand and that anti-radiation drug in the other, which I took to boost my authority over Kim. (I really really meant not to fail this check, not even once). Also it was the only time I used the drugs.
This was unironically one of my favorite moments in all of gaming, I had never felt so pumped and elated over the simple fact that all my favorite goofballs were dancing their brains out.
That's why this game is so good. I never got this scene, never got any of the dialogue, never saw that cool dancing, completed it in an entirely different way. Thanks for the upload. I still wonder about those weird transmitters, and what that unlocks.
@@dragonverde188 In fact its one of the bad things. Basically you are forced to save scum a lot otherwise you will miss extra content. It is one the biggest flaws in RPGs like this. Failing is fine but failing that locks you out of content sucks. If you fail at least make something else funny happen, I failed the Saviour Faire check to dance and it just locks you out so I save scummed a 3% check for like an hour before I got it. Mind you my Saviour Faire was at 7 too...
You just did not put on authoritative clothes and take drugs from four different vessels (in front of him) to boost your authority so he has to obey you, like I did.

I had a 25% chance for the actual dance and got it 3/4 of the time, but the (70% or so?) Esprit de corps check always failed, and then I failed the turn it up a notch check. Godammit Harry!

This game was such an amazing surprise, I haven't heard of it anywhere, then I log on to GOG and see it in the store there, just released and with this cool looking artwork and I thought "hey this looks cool" :)
I really hope they're going somewhere with this in a future installment of this series... somehow this seems like the single most significant thing Harry experiences in the entire game and an experience so profound that it could start new "main quest" that a whole game could be built around. The way I imagine it, is that Harry goes full scale Hobocop of the Apocalypse after this (a canon bad ending to this game), doubles down on heavy exotic drug abuse that enhance his 6th sense and becomes a mentor to a similarly downtrodden and mentally unhinged younger person, who takes it upon herself to avert the nuclear catastrophe that the shivers warned about. It could be a game with a much more large scale and political focus.
I learned today that "Sacred and Terrible Air", the book written by Robert Kurvitz, the leader of ZA/UM is set 21 years into the future from Disco Elysium. Looks like these guys are way ahead of me! Now to wait for the English translation...
Oh, so there were spoilers in the game to Kurvitz's book. In the book, Revachol does get nuked, or rather, the event is referenced to as something that happened in the past from the book's perspecive.
I've been curious about the book since I learned that it exists, but obviously, an English translation doesn't exist just yet. If you've read it, would you care to give a plot summary?
@@NeostormXLMAX Like it's smth bad? And game isn't really pro-communist. It just lets you feel why communism was a thing. Revolutionaries were seeking a perfect, utopic world. Something far too good to be true. Like a cryptid you met just at the end of the game. More than anything, communism was a dream. That's why it is central to the game which is mostly about failed dreams and broken desires.

Ppl from countries of old Soviet Union and sattelite countries have that feeling that there was a dream that was too good to be truth. And it turned out as pure evil (communism meeting real world). And when hope came with the capitalism. But it happened to be same devil in different skin. 90s were like damn wild west with another modern dream -- pure capitalism. It took years of work to settle more balanced systems with mix of capitalism and socialism. Look how all movements are described by moralist when u talk to Charles Villedrouin as too radical but at the same time u have to agree that moralist path is boring and meeeh, even if it's geting to ur mind as reasonable. Imho, Disco Elysium does great job in showing all cons of those ideas and also telling us how much we desire all those dreams that can't come true

I just finished the game as a speed addicted sherlock holmes but this convinced me to start it again from the start.
