I mum saw Mr Laine 7 time over the years in manchester UK and now i have all mums 78's 45's and Lp's he and Johnnie Ray and Doris Day was the best singer around in the 50's
Great Stuff! I think Frankie Laine did the best versions of "Georgia", "Sunny Side" and, of course "Lucky Old Sun." Ray Charles obviously spent a lot of time listening to him!
Is there such a thing as "THE BEST VERSION"? It's all in the ear of the lisener. But you can tell who Ray Charles was lisening to before he made his recording of this song.
Yes ... great version indeed ... but look again .... what about "continuity" ? When FL puts his tie-clip on it's horizontal ... until he puts his jacket on ! It is then knocked askew by FL's hand as he buttons up. Thereafter however, in the close-ups .... lo and behold ... the tie-clip is back to its former position .... Wonder if those alternative scenes that ended on the cutting room floor still exist.? Would like to think so! AK in Liverpool

2024. Ne ho 65. Ho iniziato a sentire Frankie Lane da piccolissimo. I miei avevano tutti i suoi dischi.
Ancora oggi lo ascolto. Una voce unica!

Fantastic! A legend making history. Gives me chills.
I've only ever seen this clip once before, but loved it! What a treat to find it here.

@schneppm The reason another one doesn't come alon is because he was unique. I can't miss him because I play his records everyday.
