They must have had some local marry into the family at some point but yeah the Ptolemaic dynasty did beat the Habsburgs when it comes to nobles keeping it in the family. Edit: I checked and the Habsburgs really don't have anything on the Ptolemaic dynasty, the only person who might be Egyptian in her bloodline is Cleopatra's unknown grandmother, other than the family tree is pretty closed with a couple Greek nobles coming in at the start at it is completely closed in the 150 years before Cleopatra besides her unknown grandmother.
@@ad_astra468 funny you mentioned Hapsburgs, there’s a bust in the archaeological museum of Churchel, Algeria of either Cleopatra Selene or her mother (The Cleopatra) that has a Hapsburg like chin, nose, and mouth, possibly a result of inbreeding also. Couple of fun infos to add too, [a bit long, I'm a nerd about this shit lol] Mark Antony had actually met Cleopatra before Caesar on a Roman mission to get more money for military campaigns. She was 14 years old, and according to what we know he was possibly said to have been smitten even then. (Ancient Weird shit lol) And Mark Antony's primary beef had a lot to do with Caesar naming Octavius as his succesor, Octavius was Caesar's nephew and adopted son. They had beef over this and then they squashed it declaring the 2nd Triumvirate, a 3 person leadership between Octavius, Lepidus, and Mark Antony. They ruled like this for sometime until Mark Antony [With Cleopatra whispering in his ear about conquest and rightful rule] went to Egypt and ruled with her in the then Ptolemaic Kingdom while controlling Eastern Rome. He had lost favor in Rome over leaving his wife to live with a mistress [which believe it or not, was frowned upon by the Roman public] & seemingly being more Egyptian than Roman. So basically, Octavian and Mark Antony had 10 year long cold war with eachother over the rightful claim to be Caesar, with Antony living it up with Cleopatra playing at being Alexandrians instead of Romans. Eventually, as one would expect, the 2nd Triumvirate dissolved over attacks that had happened on Octavian's side of Rome, this lead to war between the two, Octavian then in 32 BC convinces the senate to go to war with Egypt, Octavian and Marcus Agrippa lead a charge and have them backed into a corner taking control of the Ptolemaic Kingdom, until tragically Antony & Cleopatra both commit suicide. After this with the guidance of the newly crowned Emperor Augustus Caesar (Octavian) Rome was then ushered into the PAX ROMANA, Roman Peace, the golden age of Rome, which saw Egypt/The Ptolemaic Kingdom absorbed into the Roman Empire, with its Ptolemaic nobility stripped of power, and the country under his direct control. She was rolled up in a rug and rolled out at Caesar's feet. She's Greek so their common language was Greek since she didn't know Latin, but she did study all of the local/regional languages of the peoples of Egypt which her Greek (Ptolemy) family came in and ruled over. She gained the support of the local people who didn't like her foreign family ruling because she spoke their languages and learned their cultures. Also, while her older sisters and father were infighting and killing each other (egged on by their own advisors who were power hungry), she was too young and spent all her time in the library, studying, for which she was teased. Before all of this, Octavian told mark antony "now you are ally, but you still remain my enemy" if you still wondering what happened to junior Caesar he meets his fate at the hands of Augustus after Cleopatra sided with mark antony and probably because he was a threat to his power as the junior Caesar was used as a rally point. You know that when this man starts the story with "X had a problem", then it's gonna be some good story-telling

Octavius was like that. It was stupid of her to pick Mark. 😂
You gonna do the Chinese Pirate Queen?
Anyone not named Octavius: "GYAAAAAAaaaaaaATT!!"
bro we not gonna skip past "her brother wich is also her husband" part tf ?
Can we get a sneak preview on how you storyboard? I mean seriously this is top-tier content. To be able to do it across genres is more impressive 🔥
Also I think mark anthony was Cesar’s friend and Octavian his nephew
Oh so through manipulation and sex. I would’ve never saw that being the reason. Interesting
Cool, now talk about her little savage ass sister
Sounds to me like the biggest mistake she made was choosing Marcus Antonius over Octavian
Even worse is going to her house, and finding out that it is not in fact her house , but a complete stranger's!
Man this was good story telling. I didn’t know she didn’t die by an asp.
You got to do a video with briefed. Where you both pick a side and go at it.

Well now I guess I gotta listen to pyramids by Frank Ocean
Octavian aka Augustus, did not hate Mark Antony just because of Cleopatra, Octavian and mark Antony where in a power struggle. Originally Octavian and mark Antony and another guy i think teamed up to seek and kill the people who murder Caesar, they also formed a political alliance with another guy called the second trumvite. Please feel free to correct me where im wrong.
i swear to god you do videos on everything
He was a consul of rome!
