Chiming in as yet another American to say: nobody I know actually likes either of them. We're probably more incensed about this than you are, given how tied Pat Tillman is to the American identity (I don't even watch football and was a very small child when he died, but even I know him as something of a folk hero). The entertainment industry is a big tangle of disgusting people who give each other awards for anything and everything and that's all that's happening here.

This shows how badly Harry has destroyed his own reputation. If he had been the prince who served his country in combat and was the founding patron of the Invictus Games, the award would have made sense. The problem is that he is a traitor to his king and country and is constantly engaged in bad public behavior. The Invictus Games need a new patron., Harry used to be respected and destroyed his reputation beyond repair.
Invictus is now his wife’s free PR event. His wife loves it as she is allowed total freedom to parade herself and give out prizes and take over the mic. Zero focus on any athlete. We can’t name one athlete or know her or his story.

Female American vet here, father was a WWII vet, husband is a vet. I hope the Tillman family have the ability to take charge of who receives this honor in the future. This is so unfair to the family. They had to fight so hard for the US military to acknowledge that Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire. This was an honorable man, from an honorable family. I am waiting to hear if this award was purchased. Nothing confirmed yet. Thank you Shauna for bringing attention to the complete story. Bunker Harry has exhibited treacherous behavior so many times. Saying he aimed a plane with armament at his father, but oh so graciously called it off. Listed his ‘kills’ (I would argue they were gaming kills on a gameboy he was playing on in a bunker), dishonored both his grandparents and their legacy. I’m just so saddened, and angry. He is not an American citizen. I saw one mother ask Harry to use the money he bought the award with to help her son-in-law who lost a leg and had 75 broken bones. Those are the veterans that are being disrespected by this award being given to a middle aged man who hasn’t had to actually work a day in his life. I’m so disgusted.

Thank you and your family so much for the service to our beautiful country. My husband was in the U.S. Army for 26 years. Seeing things like this happen is so unfair to Corporal Tillman’s wonderful memory and his legacy.
Not to mention the juvenile antics Harry wrote about dodging drug tests while in the military. How could he possibly support his fellow soldiers while in a drug haze?
Sharon, so well said, agree with you 100 percent. I was never in the military, I grew up around a WW1 mounted rifle army base (Australia) my former partner fought in Afghanistan, he now suffers PTSD and is living as a strawberry farmer in an isolated place, much recovered.

I believe Harry should no longer be involved in the Invictus games, he does not bring anything to the Invictus games, there are many real British heroes who have served, been wounded in action and have gone onto live their life in service of others, Harry and his wife only serve themself.

As an Australian, a Commonwealth country, this Award SHOULD be awarded to a USA vet nominated by the Tillman Foundation, posthumously if needs be, and presented by Mrs Tillman personally to the recipient. If she is unable then the Chair/CEO of the Foundation.

As an American who watched Pat Tillman play college and pro football, and then was saddened by his death, I am greatly insulted by espn’s decision to give this award to Hank. You are giving the award to someone from another country (not even an American) who has spent the last four years trying to destroy the constitutional rights of Americans. Someone who allegedly participated in election interference. Who allegedly knew about J6 before it happened. This award was named after someone who gave up millions of dollars to serve his country after 9-11. He gave his life for the same rights that Hank is trying to destroy.

As an American, I'm not happy about Harry getting this award. I remember watching Pat play his final football game, walking off of the field, sacrificing a lucrative career, because his patriotism was so strongly embedded within him. 9-11 was such a horrible day and Pat wanted to do his part. My son-in-law has two Purple Heart medals from the war in Afghanistan. He doesn't complain like Prince Harry and he's in physical (and mental) pain EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! That this whiney, mentally unstable millionaire is receiving this award, made me sick to my stomach and I was on the verge of tears when I found out. For whatever it's worth, I would like to apologize to Mrs. Tillman on ESPN's poor choice of honoree representing your son's heroic memory. Harry has no shame!! To accept this award which I would be willing to bet he didn't even know about before their agent went into damage control is sickening. I guess you can call me an angry American but maybe I have a right to be. I'm a retired 1st Responder who has loved a Firefighter/Paramedic for many years. We stood in front of our television on 9-11 and watched in horror as the towers fell. I knew what he was thinking, this would probably lead to war, and we were too old for the military. In the following days he continued to work his 24 hour shifts and I worried myself crazy every time he left. Pat Tilman joined up ! He became an instant hero in the eyes of a great many 1st Responders and his death hurt as if he had been one of us. Harry has been to war, yes. But his honor is gone. I would say he will stop accepting awards when he takes the big one he wants so badly-The BRITISH CROWN.
As an American, I am very well aware of Pat Tillman and his ultimate sacrifice. With a promising football career, he could have had fame and money, but he didn't do that. This hero gave it all up to enlist after 9/11 and unfortunately was killed by "friendly fire". It SICKENS me that Hazmat is getting this award. This is a new low from the Monte-shit-show inhabitants and their minions!

It's illogical that he was even suggested to be a recipient.
Apparently there was one other British who received the Tillman award in 2021, a well-known soccer player by the name of Marcus Rashford who helped raise millions to feed the children during Covid. I don't think he had any military connection. While Marcus Rashford received many awards in the UK, one wonders if the US is bereft of deserving recipients. Surely to goodness there are many unsung American heroes who are just as deserving.
But there is money, somewhere.
@@kappy-nf6uh The criteria for the award don't mention a US connection being necessary, or for that matter a military connection: 'It is intended for individuals with strong ties to sports who have made significant contributions to others, honouring Tillman's legacy'. But apart from playing weekend polo at a very average amateur level, H has no specific connections to any proper mainstream sports himself. His only sporting connection is through Invictus, and for the last 5 years he has used this as a personal PR platform and as a fashion merching opportunity for his wife to enhance her personal income, hardly in line with the Tillman philosophy of humility and self-sacrifice in the name of service to others.

My heart breaks for Mrs. Tillman who was not even consulted by the Espy's on their decision to award the Pat Tillman Award for Service to Harry. If Harry had any human decency, he would accept the award on behalf of the Invictus Games, and send a message to Mrs. Tillman that he is certainly not worthy of receiving this award himself. Pat Tillman's legacy will be that of an American hero, and I hope people will always remember him for his love of country and for the ultimate sacrifice he made. Rest easy soldier. 🙏
I am a retired nurse practitioner who used to work at a Veteran Affairs medical clinic. Many former co-workers are veterans themselves, and several of them deserve the award. They risked their lives to serve our country. After discharge and despite their injuries, physical and/or mental, they continue to serve their country by helping their fellow veterans by working or volunteering at the VA. Many of them form additional groups, including sporting ones to offer additional support. They're not getting paid one cent for the additional work. In fact, many would use their own money to finance their activities. So when you talk about hard work or mental health, you look and listen to these true heroes and not the Parking Lot Fraud and Prince Hazbeen. I am disgusted.

So it’s gaining traction as it should-so many brave veterans and vet families would be angry that Bunker Harry is getting this award. There’s nothing commendable about his 10 wks served playing video games in his protected camp and he’s also run Invictus to the ground. He’s not even the “founding patron”! The Queen let him keep his involvement in Invictus when she took every single military title/patronage from him! Don’t get me started on the 2,000+ wounded athletes who are boycotting Invictus until Hazbeen steps down.Allegedly he’s been asked to do so but has refused….anyways, everyone who reads this comment should sign the petition! Haven't they insulted this man and his family enough? First he was killed under friendly fire, then they tried to cover it up, and now they besmirch the award, and this to a man who is currently under investigation.
I am OUTRAGED. I have a home in Arizona. I met the wonderful Pat Tillman at ASU and he is a TRUE HERO. It’s absolutely despicable that a person of Harry’s character would have anything to do with this award. I hope it is averted. As much as I love your channel, I don’t think Harry should have anything to do with this award, or even the Invictus Games at this point. Those participants are true heroes as well.
All it needs Shauna, is for Harry to gracefully decline this award .

I think there is an obscure driver for this: Serena is a member of The All England Tennis and Croquet Club on account of winning Wimbledon. It’s the only way you can become a member and it’s the most coveted prize in tennis besides the calendar year Grand Slam. Catherine, Princess of Wales is Patron of the All England Club. I would keep an eye on the Serena - Harry’s Wife association. It could get very interesting.

The Invictus Games are not American; we have the Warrior Games which inspired Invictus Games. In my opinion, neither Harry nor the IG should get the Pat Tillman award.

Thank you, Shauna, for covering this and for telling Tillman's story. It was a particularly poignant event that broke our hearts. ESPN is a horrid organization and has been for a long time. They have no Patriotism in their hearts and this is an intentional stomp on courage and loyalty. Harry has spent more time transporting himself to collect these awards than he has earning them.
ESPN may just find themselves Markled after this.
Pat Tillman reminds me of our Greatest Generation and went to war protecting us, just like our WWII veterans. A beautiful man with ethics and morals, what Harry will never be.
Thank you for speaking so highly of this American hero, Pat Tillman. I was deeply affected when he was killed and I have tremendous respect for the life he lived and his memory and what it means to us U.S. Veterans. I served in Iraq and so did my husband. This award being given to Harry is insulting and dispicable. He's a traitor to his King, HRH King Charles and to his former HRH Queen Elizabeth, also his grandmother. Things need to change. Harry needs to step down as a patron to the Invictus Games. He and his wife are making a mockery of our service members. He needs to be fired from the games and investigated for what's going on in Africa.
Pat Tillman's memory needs to be honored, not purchased.
