Just getting into single hand skagit. Thank you for the great instruction. You have a great teaching presence about you.
thanks Tim, best instruction on this cast I've watched! Thanks so much
Thanks Kevin! I appreciate that so much!
Great lesson Tim!
👍👍👍
What size rod are you using?
9’ #6. SA Spey lite Skagit head
Hey Tim, great video. Quick question for you: when you do single hand spey, do you typically keep less loops than when you double hand spey? For instance do you do 3 loops vs 5 loops?
I usually do 3 loops for 2 hand Spey and 2 to 3 for single hand but smaller, the trick for single hand is to keep as much line coiled in your hands as possible and off the water because the little single hand heads don’t have the power to peel much line off the water surface at all,
@@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins thank you for the information. I could have sworn I’ve seen a past video by you were you did 5 loops, 4 loops, 3 loops, etc with two handed Spey. Is 3 loops a new technique?
@@Petergoneflyfishing I might go to that extreme if I was in one of those weird places where the water swirls around your legs and the coils need to be mostly off the water to make a long cast but mostly now I use a couple loops of 6 strips, + - and a smaller loop with the rest, my main goal is to keep my anchor from getting caught in the coils. I prefer not to fish with much more than 15 strips if possible because it a pain. ruclips.net/video/AgHYuM8qZj4/видео.html
@@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins thanks again for the reply. I read my original comment and realized that I actually meant “strips” when I was using the word “loops.” Sorry for any confusion.
