whats it like promoting luv and San Francisco knowing that they are associated strongly with homosexuality? N expressing your admiration for Ben just seems to bolster that claim. I mean his is from Canada but he's not like the dudes from Carts Of Darkness, he's NOT gonna hit 70k on a shopping trolley.

the fact the skaters/bikers don't take care of the park and don't chase junkies away is a testament to how much you did not have to beg for a park

@@KyleBGanger bust heads man make the little fuckers care when i was a kid in the early 2000s you learned skatepark etiquette or you got kicked out (and the next closest park was like a hundred miles away) so getting kicked out wasn't an option you either had respect for the park and everyone in it or you didn't ride

It is the middle of winter in Canada, this is the first week it's been nice enough to go outside and skate. I went to the park yesterday and it's freshly swept, generally in the summer when people are there everyday it stay's clean.

    • @corail53

Where that park is located that is not possible. There will always be junkies there trying to stay out of the crap weather there because its close to one of the biggest hit areas of homelessness and drug use in Canada. The park is also on borrowed time as the viaducts above it are going to be torn down and the park with it. Locals often clean it and the city does sweeps every now again as well. He just went in a bad time when not many people are out.

They try, but it's hard to keep up in the downtown core where many homeless, mentally unstable, and those struggling with addictions seek shelter during the rainy seasons of Vancouver. The rest of the city's parks are very well maintained by the locals.

I skated a lot of times in there when I lived in Van, too many syringes on the ground and it was definitely scary to fall, and if I went there early there was still a few homeless people sleeping in the skatepark, none of them seem to care about the skateboard sounds but it was awkward to skate. Nevertheless there is a lot of people helping on cleaning the skatepark, but there is still a lot of work to do since it's near to hastings street still I would definitely recommend people to go, the park itself is fun just don't go with kids if you're a fearful parent, other than that you'll be fine

For pop i prefer a steep (kicks) Deck with 14 3/8 wheelbase (its a Shopdeck from a German skateshop who uses generatordecks) with forged indys. When i want my manuals more consistent i have to choose a little flatter Kicks, also with indys (forged or Standart height) a Jart with 14 1/2 wheelbase works great....I am really interrested in custom shapes designed by you, the biggest problem is the shipping. But im sure there will be a lot more interests from my country.

They have a minimum of 50 per design but not sure how you can get the blanks. You have to know someone I guess. A local shop here has them from time to time. Straight from Mexicali I believe.

A few years ago made the trip up to Plaza from Washington with my gf and her friends who hula hoop. A posse was there where the fires were and the were rudely calling out and whistling at the girls (who never never stepped foot in the park but were on the sidewalk outside). A guy from the posse comes over claiming he runs the park and tells me that we have to leave because the skatepark is for skateboarding only. I told him that I was skating and he said fine but the girls can’t watch or be around the skatepark because they aren’t skateboarders. We just left because it was getting really weird. Googled him, and it seems the city hired him to keep the park free of homeless people on the weekend. Him and that crew are blowing it haha! Still want to go back though!
