While growing up watching Carl and Carol on tv was like watching Stevie Wonder Luther Vandross Babra Streisand Whitney Houston. Carl and Carol were superstars to me. I remember thinking I want to be like them. They inspired me to want to make it in music. I thank them for their contribution to Trinidad Music and Culture.
its sad to know that great works like this one by some truly sweet prodgeny of the soil goes almost forgotten, save for the smart and tasteful folks commenting on this video. too few views for this little gem. i had the good fortune of meeting these folks when i was much younger as my father was a musician in their band at one point. they were all friends too. thank God for youtube as we certainly cannot rely on what passes for mainstream radio to keep the great art we produced in the past alive.
+blitzgreg1 I absolutely agree!! When I was fresh out of high school I moved to Miami and was blessed to meet their family performing in their group Islanda. It changed my life! :)
+BootsieDior74 nice! Happy to see that this music and the music makers are not forgotten. these were happy times in terms of the sound of our music. unfortunately what we produce now reflects the degeneration of the world we live in and by extension our culture or what is left of it. keep the heart beat of our great works going, continue to appreciate it.
my all time favourite Carl and Carol Jacobs song. I can listen to it repeatedly without getting tired. A true masterpiece of timeless and profound lyrics that reflect so strongly the behaviour and attitude of today's society. Pure genius!
Thank you Carl and Carol Jacobs for your music. I truly respect and admire the fact that you use and sing on topics that are familiar to and discussed by people throughout the world. Your lyrical choice helps to make your musical art understood by a wider world audience. Again, thanks and be blessed!!
Soca @ it's best . Ole school soca . Each live band had a it's own sound . Carl & carol was no exemption of this . I remember while playing with Kalyan in the mid 80's soca village , palm club. Fun days with music .
This tune has had a profound impact on my life and daily dealing with people from the first time I heard it,in addition they started the revolution in new wave soca .

The Trinidad I grew up in. 1980-1995, then I moved to the United States. Sad to know this version of T&T no longer exists, and is now only a memory :(

Its Charlie's Roots.
I believe that it's Chandileer. In fact when they migrated to Miami, Ronnie Mc Intosh took over as lead singer.
Especially the drum machine think they were First. ❤
Ha Hhhaaaaaa! Still sweet like plum from the tree in front the Yard to the band room in St James
Memories eh
When you actually had to know how to carry a tune.
