Why does this song sound like, captures the essence of not only the latter 80s and when my parents were young but the entire choldhood i had in the 90s? The memories the experiences here and gone already 30 years fly right by and your finally awake but things arnt the same as they were places are smaller processes arnt what they were going to be like in this life of course things change and we live on Gods will for our lives but when i hear this song i will always remeber the non cliche days of old in mg life when screens and agendas weren't first and happiness was the goal in life. Live on brothers and sisters
I used to live in Chicago when this film came out! And I was on Green Bay Road! Near John Hughes house on my way to Deerfield to go to school. I saw this film and realized how much (Now that I live in Pennsylvania) I miss Chicago! And when Planes Trains and Automobiles comes on and this song plus the harmonica music right when they are approaching the Chicago skyline I cry! The best city in the world! And also RIP John Candy and John Hughs! I am homesick now I think I will listen to this track and have a good cry.
Del: You wanna hurt me? Go right ahead if it makes you feel any better. I'm an easy target. Yeah, you're right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you... but I don't like to hurt people's feelings. Well, you think what you want about me; I'm not changing. I like... I like me. My wife likes me. My customers like me. 'Cause I'm the real article. What you see is what you get.
The movie really has it all. Humor, silliness, frustration, and then, redemption. Somehow, out of the modern muck and anxiety, emerges a chance to practice the beatitudes. To make a friend, and show love. The old Hollywood is forever gone. When you support movies and media, be sure to give your dollars to those who work to make something of substance. It won't be in Hollywood anymore.
i have read everyone comments i have to agree this was the best movie of all time has today this movie is still the movie ever made the music bring back alot of memories back in the day

I saw this movie in 1993, when I was 15 years old. I laughed a lot and also cried watching it. It is a beautiful film that touches your soul.
My god, whilst listening to this and thinking of John Candy, all the great movies and now he is gone, it just brakes your heart
he was, a trully good actor.. Gone too soon
GOD they don't make movies like this anymore.
Hell no. Too much agenda and pop culture in modern films. Mainstream Hollywood has lost track of what makes film so great.

When attempted they’re way over done with stupid humour
Breaks my heart i can hear John Candy say I LIKE ME. MY LIFE LIKES ME. And I relate to that lie as all my loved ones have died it really hurts 24-7

Certain synths in this song reminds me of Phil Collin's "In the Air Tonight". Anyone else hear it?
This film transcends era, generation, etc.
I grew up in the 80s. My kids now feel the same emotion or a close resemblance to it now
Beautiful track.
this is so good , Thanksgiving you can see the emotion
"I don't have a home. Marie's been dead for 8 years."
I don't have a home.......Marie has been dead for 8 years.
I like me.....
2:40
It might be a cliche thing to say, but they don't make film soundtracks like this anymore!
