Then you love this entire project because it's the same snare the entire time. 🙃 The next song is the toughest song I think I ever recorded for this channel. Hope you enjoyed em all!
If I was walking by your office and you yelled out "You!", I would of replied "Stand still, laddy!" You and this song are one of the big factors of me starting the project off on the right foot. Weird to think this was filmed over 1 year ago and just released today. 🤣😂
Love it! Super tight as always and a killer sound. I would swear there's some trusty Meat Kick from the Core library in that kick stack!! Friggin AWESOME cover RGM!🤘💥🤘💥
Yea Mike, the meat kick is a staple pretty much in everybody's arsenal...am I right? But I'll give you the combo I used for the Black Album: The 18"x22" Pearl Masterworks, The Meat Kick, and the 16"x18" Ayotte Classic (no resonance head). The Ayotte is my little secret. Gives a low end thump to smooth out the aggressiveness of the Meat Kick. Naturally there is a ton of compression, eq, and other goodies that make up the kick sound. Superior Drummer 3 really does push your creative limits. Thanks for the comment as always!
Who is this guy?! Doesn't sound like my dad! 🤣 Thanks dad, it's always great seeing comments from the individuals who started me on this hobby 38+ years ago and supported me every step of the way. Not sure it needs more cowbell, I don't even know why it made it into the original song in the first place.
I think we started to record this one way back in the day with Steve but like usual, it just sat there for the longest time. Glad you enjoyed the finished project. 😊
Thank you for the comment, Hector! I have done many upgrades since purchasing this kit in 2016, mainly with the drum software used for the sounds you are hearing. I don't have an exact figure but I would put it close to the $8000 range.
I never knew there was cowbell in this song! Sounds tight! Is it me, or did you fatten up the toms or raise them in the mix because they sound bigger and more defined! Again with perfect time especially through the triplet fill at 5:09. You’re killing it with this album dude. What’s next?
Thanks as always Mike! Yea, who would of thunk that Metallica would use a cowbell in one of their songs?! It's in the original mix, maybe not as loud as I mixed it, but I needed people to know what I was doing during the chorus. That fill at 5:09 took me about 35-40 minutes to dissect it and figure out what Lars was playing; thank god for the varispeed option in Logic. But really, my favorite part is the outro starting at 6:00! Such a jam! As for the toms... nope, still the same ones (same preset) as mixed from all the previous tracks. What's next? From the Black Album Project is the last song, which was the hardest song I think I ever done for this channel. But after that, March's release is a slower song and a huge change in pace and April's release, I just filmed today and is a tribute cover. I will start working on May's release in about a week and if all goes well, everyone might be banging their head to that one! Whoa, this is the longest comment I have ever done. Thanks Mike for getting me going! 🤣😂
Thank you for that comment! I really wish more of the Black Album drum covers did get more views. I am thankful you found it and left me a great comment. 🤘😎🙏
Show.....fiel ao original....top
Thank you🙏🤘😎
Rocking tune, good job! 🤘
And that snare, "snap, snap, snap." Love a good snare snap. 😆

Who are these people & what have you done with my parents?! 😂 Love you mom! 🥰
I was listening on my headphones and just sang "YOU!" and it sounded completely unwarranted in the office. Nice work! I love this jam.
