I remember seeing the Tarbosaurus in Zdenek Burian's book "Life before man". It looked monumental. I later realised that the artist managed to make it look so huge by simply putting the horizon very low, but it's still epic, especially with that pose. Poor T-rex got the opposite treatment. He put the horizon line behind it's shoulders, so it appeared as it's not much taller than 2-2,5 meters (in that classic kangaroo pose). Perspectice is such an interesting artistic tool.

If I could recommend some other species for you to do videos about, my biggest recommendations would be the Carnotaurus, Nanuqsaurus or Steguoros!

Damn. Maybe the T-rex in the Jurassic franchise is actually a Tarbosaurus. I mean it is lighter then an actual T rex, AND it has poor eyesight. Just like the Tarbosaurus. (This is a joke)
Maybe a disappointment of Tarbosaurus like an Asian stereotype of parenting , since it sucks in smell and hearing in the franchise its parents would disown it
Absolutely fascinating video! The discovery story of Tarbosaurus at 0:24 is such an incredible mix of science and adventure. It’s amazing to think about how closely it resembled T. rex but had unique traits like the smallest arms among all Tyrannosaurs. 🦖🔥 Also, the comparison to cyber threats at 1:00 was a clever twist! Speaking of which, do you think Tarbosaurus could have been even more dominant if it had lived in North America alongside T. rex?
There’s a myth that Tarbosaurus had a flat skull compared to T. rex, but it’s completely false. Tarbosaurus DID have binocular vision like its American cousin. Now it was still a little less wide than the T. rex skull, however, the idea that Tarbosaurus’ eyes were more to the side is false. It was a true Tyrannosaurine and would’ve possessed a very powerful bite.
People do treat tarbosaurus as if it was downright diminutive compared to t.rex, but it the largest tyrannosaurid besides it, and I believe they could probably attain sizes comparable to t.rex itself.
@sangheiliwarrior86 Agreed. Tarbosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaur genera. I even made a tribute video of it (don’t watch it 😅). Even though it’s a well known dinosaur, there’s still misconceptions about it.

(Along side rex having to face ceratopsians and even bigger Hadrosaurus so eyesight woulda helped avoid horns and hooves)
