Excellent job with the drone, you got it back safely after the flight!!! The footage looked great. I gotta tell you, I think it's going to become priceless for navigating some of those marshes with all the little spillways/creeks/inlets. Not to mention, the drone showing us all some beautiful scenery we'd never see without it. Great job investing in the channel and content, the videos have absolutely improved over the years. Tight lines, brother!
Having to be up early, to get my neighbors daughter on the bus, it's great when we can watch a video befor the bus picks her up. Its a bonus that it's one of your videos, and she wants to watch it, instead of some crazy Disney stuff..lol! Great job as always, Mark!
hey man, i mainly fish sabine lake and I'm getting a kayak soon. If you don't mind me asking, what boat ramp did you put in at for this video? I've been eyeballing some spots back there in taylor's bayou and hildebrandt bayou. Also Rodair Roadhouse is a fantastic place to eat at!
Question sir. I've only been salt water fishing once. Most of my fishing experience was on Sam Rayburn. I've been wanting to go to Sabine Lake and try for some redfish or whatever. I don't have a boat any longer. But, I have gotten interested in Kayaks. I have a new Kayak and was wondering where would be a good place to put in around Port Arthur or Port Neches. I live in Nederland. Also, what do you recommend I use for bait as a rookie on salt water? Advice and help appreciated very much.
VERY SWEET LOCATION! also ---- am LMAO @ the Drone! (you fly like a Marine!) PS - Save $$$$ GET the Insurance ..... like Yesterday~!!! ALL drones crash, it's just "when" no one can tell until it happens! ~Tight Lines~
Great video Mark. I enjoyed the drone footage. Have you updated your Lowrance and checked out the Fish Reveal feature? What are your thoughts. You might not be in deep enough water to fully utilize it.
I seriously doubt it. Anything that adds extra weight to it throws it off. It has to be recalibrated and the battery life suffers as well. The winds are already tough on it. It would be nice to have a foldout flotation pad but that would also have be enormous because of the rotorwash it causes. Like all things with my filming, I’m going to have to take the chance of getting dunked for the best possible footage. Or I could just shoot before I launch the yak but then that wouldn’t be the same as filming where I’m fishing.
I wonder if maybe a 1/8" thick flat piece of closed-cell foam, cut to fit the shape of the drone, and not intefere with battery slots, etc, and connect the foam using small pcs of velcro? May not make it watertight, but it would hopefully be retrieveable if it went swimming. Just some thoughts. :)
What advice do you have for beginners when fishing the flats? I'm a kayak bass fisherman that's looking to start fishing the flats. I'm not sure what standard rod set up would be best. My kayak will do great on the flats, just need some direction about my approach.
Sabine Pass born and raised baby🤙🏼🤙🏼🔥🔥

I'll never fished the marsh at night with a high tide. Now is it a good idea or is it a no go?

Great video. How deep is the water in those main canals?
approximately 7'

I haven't did the update but if I plan to fresh water fish I'll do it.
when will you be going back to sabine pass i want to tag along in my kayak
Concerning the possibility of the drone getting deep-sixed, I wonder if there is some type of light-weight flotation gear available for drones?

Don't overthink it, all my bass and panfish gear have caught slot reds. Just set the drag right and enjoy the fight!
Thanks
