Late to the party for an old video. Ben using diode lasers for a while. Just got a K40. Does this software really control the power output or are you changing it physically on the K40 despite when you note in the cuts layers?

The intensity is controlled with a PWM output from the controller. The PWM duty cycle of 100% will output the laser to the max power that the laser tube power supply will allow. When you set the power in a layer, or when changing intensities related to toning nan image for engraving, the PWM will output a variable duty cycle corresponding to the engrave tone, or the power set in the layer.
