    Does Outlook have the ability to see any sub-folders (in the favorites menu) inside a folder tagged as a "Favorite"?

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  3 года назад

      I haven't seen that option although you can add sub-folders as a separate favorite.

    Hi Dawn. Thank you for making this helpful tips videos.
    I find that when any new emails come to a folder (I set a rule to do that), there are no notifications. Any idea how to enable notifications for new emails into a folder?

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  Год назад

      Although notifications aren't an option, you could add the folder to your Favorites folder which would make it more visible to you in Outlook. (Right-click on the folder and choose Add to Favorites). You would then see a bold number to the right of the folder name which indicates unread messages.

    Hi Dawn, I work with many folders and subfolders, is it possible to change the font size and font color of the primary folders?

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  Год назад

      This would be a great feature but it's not available. The closest option is to change the size and color of key emails using conditional formatting.

      Dang it! Sounds like this is frustrating. I'm not familiar with the options or duplication that might happen with a Samsung phone.

    why does outlook send me a reminder of a meeting that already happened like 1 or 2 days ago?? how do i stop this so it only reminds me of the things i actually need??? thank youuuuuu

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  3 года назад +1

      Try this change (from Outlook help):
      If you don't want to see reminders for events in the past, you can tell Outlook to automatically dismiss reminders for past events. For example, if you're out of the office for three days, you might not want to come back and see reminders for the meetings that took place while you were gone.
      Select File > Options > Advanced.
      In the Reminders section, select Automatically dismiss reminders for past events.

    I believe that I am in a Mail app perhaps. I do not have the header that you show w all the options for home, send, receive etc. I have'nt been able to find that location.

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  Год назад

      Yes, you will need to work with the Outlook desktop app to use the full feature set and to access the Ribbon. In the desktop app, right-click on the Ribbon and choose Use Classic Ribbon (vs Simplified Ribbon) for a more complete display of options.

    how does this work with regards to other people example my team to access emails base on specific project? is it share-able?

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  11 месяцев назад

      To share project specific emails and other communications, it might make more sense to create a channel in Teams.
      You can learn more about how to share and collaborate between Teams and Outlook in my video at ruclips.net/video/0nDnzgj5RIc/видео.htmlsi=TQXoYoDQIHiP0uy3

    I was curious what "Parking Lot" was used for - is this your action folder?

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  3 года назад

      Some time management systems suggest a Parking Lot for to do or action items. I prefer labeling mine as a To Do folder. Create a folder structure that matches how you prefer to process priorities and tasks.

    Hi Dawn, why not simply use custom search folders? You can use them the same way as creating a folder but have the benefit of automated filtering with no further need to drag and drop emails from the inbox to the desired folder. Ideally creating folders is super helpful but if maintaining them starts to take up most of your time they’ll be rendered useless. I found the creation of search folders immensely helpful.

    • @thesoftwarepro
      @thesoftwarepro  3 года назад +1

      Thanks, Michael. I agree that custom search folders are a huge timesaver. I've covered them in a different #Outlook video: ruclips.net/video/-NLftl7co3Q/видео.html

    too much organising can tire you and make you less efficient. in my case i have only few folders. why categorising by contacts, when you can simply filter your emails.
