i’ve always avoided reviews for diving torches but you make a very good point about ease of use that I’d not considered before. Sometimes you just want to something simple to use

probably had over 40 of their sd05 so far with easily over 10k hours diving (split over different people)
with their sd09/l they improved the oring to 3 instead of 2 which was a great upgrade since thats usually how they did break.
their df30 was horrible (the magnet is exposed under the "ring" which made it rust. sd05 however did not have this problem even tho the trigger looked the same)
so far we have around 200 hours with the sd09 and sd09l so its to early to tell if the button will have any flaws over the long run but already now i get annoyed over their activation. doublepress to activate. single to blink twice.
this would be great if it was always the case. its random if it will turn on or blink twice when u single tap the trigger.
it is annoying when u use them 5 hours daily driving boats and diving (however minor it sounds) i love the blink since it works as a warning signal for other boats now u never know how it will behave.
other than that sofirn have always proven worthy of high praise when it comes to their diving flashlights (sd01, 05 and 09). we dive with compressor in the middle of the night and we are several people trusting them with our life and they never let you down.
note if you use them long enought they turn metalic grey ;) looks awesome

You seem to have vanished? Hope all is well. I have just ordered an Astrolux EA O4 with 12000 lumens to try, Seems it's quite a heater if you amp up the output so will need to use that sparingly. It's one of those lights using some of these recent Chinese leds and has a very simple smooth ramping only UI so no clicky Anduril for a more basic simplicity. Apparently people are liking it. Big flooder but still almost 350+ meter max throw and cheaper than the usual CREE etc Astrolux. Due in a week or two or three .....
